That's exactly what the KKK members thought Obama would be.
Yeah they weren't rational, but then again, rational people don't riot over something like this.

You're saying that Obama and Trump are similar because A RACIST HATE GROUP thought Obama was the antichrist??

Maybe the KKK thought that because they are delusional fuckheads who think everything is the beginning of a race war and that white Christian males are the most persecuted people on Earth? Maybe it's because they're constantly trying to scare people into joining them and acting out the Turner Diaries?

I hate to break it to you, but the people upset about Trump aren't members of a hate group, they are normal people... so forgive me if I trust their judgment a little more than the KKK's. They're not upset about some paranoid conspiracy about what Trump MIGHT do... they're upset because of what he has actually PROMISED to do-- build walls, ban Muslims, bring back torture, etc, etc, etc,.

What I want to know is what the left's great leaders are doing about the riots and calming their base? Or do they believe that it is ok to just go around destroying our cities?

I guess public condemnation and normal police forces aren't good enough anymore. Might as well start doling out Uzis and send in the National Guard... it'll be good practice for the coming Trumptatorship.

Which great leaders would these be? The left doesn't have a Rush Limbaugh.

People didn't vote for him because of racism, sexism or hate. People voted for him because of his platform.

No, I'm saying that only irrational people display their disgruntlement at losing an election by destroying -innocent- third party property.

And that even the KKK wasn't irrational enough to do that after Obama won.

Maybe because Obama's platform didn't directly target the KKK?

Neither does Trump's directly target the left.

It's the same thing.

Or maybe they voted for Trump because their endocrine systems are designed to 'vote' Trump-like hormones into their internal organs.

It doesn't, despite what they might be thinking.

As I said before: only irrational people riot and destroy third party property in situations like this.

I'll give it to you that they're irrational.
But they're not delusional.

Trump's campaign was about scapegoating as many foreign elements as he could, and anyone who has ever been a foreign element or a scapegoat has a reason to worry.

How can I not tell you that you're wrong when you continue to be wrong?

Not for your beliefs...you're entitled to them, no matter how overblown I or anyone else thinks they are. BUT...I have yet to hear you say that the riots are wrong...destroying other people's property is wrong. You...and all the special snowflakes can believe whatever you want and I can disagree with it. But a violent response to a LEGAL DEMOCRATIC process? When your own beloved leader and the loser of the DEMOCRATIC process are speaking out against it? That's what is wrong...not your feelings or your beliefs. Acting out VIOLENTLY based on nothing more than your feelings is what I am calling wrong. Your continuing refusal to call that wrong is what I am calling you out for...NOT your beliefs or your feelings.

You might have noticed that I personally am NOT rioting... so I'm not going to apologize to you... especially after all of this 'special snowflake' shit. But your insistence that the rioting was the only thing you're taking issue with is wrong-- you insisted that this was merely a case of 'sore losers upset that they didn't win'... it's a lot more than that. I'm assuming that you're now focusing on the riots because you realize that you were wrong, so that's a step in the right direction.

But yes, okay, rioting is wrong. Murder is wrong too, but I would more sympathetic to the killer if it was an abused spouse fighting back after the abuse went a little too far. And that is how I feel about these riots. This sort of blind rage isn't due to hooligans who just want to watch the world burn, it's a legitimate expression of rage, helplessness and fear... and those aren't going to just go away. Simply condemning it isn't going to help anyone understand it... but the thing is, even understanding it probably isn't going to help, because I can't see any of the much-needed compromises ever taking place now.

And rioting may be wrong, but electing a fascist is much much worse... and I don't see you feeling any remorse about that. I don't see any remorse being shown about the racism, sexism, and hate that came out of Trump's mouth-- just a lot of 'shut up and stop being such a baby', even when it was obviously hurting people in ways that you could probably never understand.

Even if Trump turns out to be a complete fraud (which would be nice), people VOTED for that shit... which is simply horrifying. It's even more horrifying that this was LEGAL and DEMOCRATIC. In fact, the words LEGAL and DEMOCRATIC have been officially reduced to dogma now. If LEGAL DEMOCRATIC processes are what led to President Trump, then LEGAL DEMOCRATIC processes are not to be trusted.

This is seriously grim shit.
Like so many people who don't really believe what they're saying , you're really good at using that word "but". My therapist a long time ago told me that, when used a certain way, all the word "but" means is "here is how I justify what I just claimed is wrong.

"Rioting is wrong BUT electing a fascist is worse". Again...ANY ACTION TAKEN YET by Trump to prove he's a Fascist? A dictator? Any?

"Murder us wrong BUT after one beating too many, she put a bullet in his head". Yep, murder is murder and it IS wring but in this case, there is a reason for it. That's why they have such a thing as "justified" homicide.

No, I am not wrong...you just are not stringing what I've said together: Trump wins...snowflakes get upset...resort to what snowflakes do...protest. (a.k.a. organized whining). Since many of them had the day off from school to deal with their "emotional upset", they had the opportunity. They want to show their fear of...and anger at...Trump...they burn down people's property. Not their own...Oh God, no. But not Trump's either.

Thank God the snowflakes have the self- awareness that owning a lighter probably isn't a good idea for themselves. The problem is that they think everone lives in Alaska.

So far, just promising to remake America as a fascist society and scapegoating foreign people.
So, no.

Any time people have a president they don't agree with elected, they've got reason to 'worry'. When Obama got elected, the right had reason to 'worry' about him implementing a healthcare plan that would make healthcare even harder to get, and more unaffordable than it had been before. And guess what, that worry was justified. Premiums are up, care provided down, and there's a bunch of people who lost their jobs or had their hours cut to avoid the employing needing to cover their premiums.

What you're implying is that the left doesn't have stuff to 'worry' about with Trump being elected, no, they've got reasons to fear for their very lives. After all, they're rioting and publicly posing death threats to the president-elect AND the people who voted for him... you don't do something like that over a mere 'worry' such as over ObamaCare.

So... show me exactly which part of the platform Trump ran on gives those people a justifiable cause to fear. Justifiable fear that goes beyond just a worry that things won't got their way for a while. Justifiable fear for their safety and security, based on items Trump actually ran on.

I'm sorry, but your argument is just nonsense. You're acting like deathcamps have been promised, or that minorities will be shot on sight, or Trump's going to make it legal to randomly rape women in the street. It's nonsense. Nobody's safety and security is being threatened. As such, there is no reasonable justification for death threats and riots.

i agree, at least for Hillary supporters, but not so much for the trump supporters:

quote:

A shocking video out of Chicago shows a man being brutally beaten by a group of people shouting "Don't vote Trump." The video, which was posted on Wednesday night, depicts two men punching and kicking a man in broad daylight at an intersection and stealing things from his car. The person recording the video repeatedly screams "don't vote Trump!" and "You voted Trump!" while the man is beaten.

yes but also two things---the lefties redefine those terms and apply them willy nilly to anyone or anything who holds to different beliefs/values than they do. so in their minds, yep---racist, sexist, bigot, etc.

the other is---if you take those instances of labeling out of their repertoire, they lose the (pseudo) moral superiority they so desperately crave.

FR:
1) Most of the protests have been peaceful.
2) I have very little doubt that had HRC won the election that we would be seeing similar, if not worse behavior as evidenced by:

"On November 8th, I'm voting for Trump," former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) tweeted on Wednesday.
"On November 9th, if Trump loses, I'm grabbing my musket. You in?"

along with many other things stated by now President Elect Trump's supporters.
