ORIGINAL: MercTech The election results are in. For the popular vote at least; the populace has voiced a resounding Eff-You to elite machine politics and a culture of totalitarian dictates from on high. The popular results are not so much an acclaim for the soon to be Clown Prince Trump but a rejection of the machinations by those that perceive themselves above the rules the rank and file must adhere to. And I truly mean the Democratic Machine and the Republican Cartel both. All that, a John Galt Moment. Hmm. Bit of a strained and tortuous connection there, even then if just considering the "moment" part. That's why fiction is necessary for some things, I guess, because trying to sell what Rand was selling wouldn't have gone over very well if the story bore any resemblance to reality. In the book Atlas the fictional John Galt was a man of integrity who was smart, innovative, honest and forthright, who eventually led a group of people to a place called Galt's Gulch. In the reality obtaining we have here the unreal fact of Donald Trump, whose attributes are in complete opposition of Galt's, who will now lead a country of 320 million people with an economy of ~ $18.5 trillion into a new place soon to be known as Trump's Dump. So yeah, understanding the reality presented is thus 180 degrees of the fiction, like looking at a glass faced clock from the back, I suppose I can see a connection there, of sorts.
