GAWWWWD.....someone needs to stop this craaaaazy (entirely....stoooopit) shit.....allow me to assist:

This is a story that can be found (somewhere, years past) on my fb.....

First time I came across this guy (DJT)....1982 or so....on my way to Baltimore (I was 24 or sumpin), I'd never read a Forbes before....didn't know a WSJ from a Barrons....airport news stand....waiting for my plane....grabbed a bunch of stuff to read (5+ hour flight)...big bag of stuff to read...

Started out with the Forbes.....30 minutes in to the flight (he wasn't the cover boy...probably should have been), I come across this article....great stuff....1/4 of the way through....I'm smiling....halfway through....I can't stop giggling....3/4's of the way....I'm laughing so hard that....it's REALLY difficult to finish the remaining 1/4.....

It was about this (new) millionaire developer dude in NYC.....some fellow named Donald Trump (remember....1982...I'm 24...raised in a house of commercial developers....so....I "kind of 'get it'"...surrounded...by virtue of "developer think"....dirt...opportunity...etc.) he had bought a piece of property in a shit hole neighborhood in Manhattan...dirt bag stuff....he PETITIONED the city to RE-NAME the street...."The Avenue of The America's"....(basically...57th and.....)...he gave the address...glamor....just....the address...(he hadn't built shit yet)...

Then he built a building (keep in mind...this was STILL in the 16% interest rate nationwide recession of 1982....talk about balls)..it was (then) a gorgeous building.

When he was done (it was something like 50 or 60 stories...can't remember), he sold the upper 50% as condos....under the "Trump" banner...for prices that were simply UNHEARD of at the time ("couldn't be done....he'll NEVER succeed.....")....those sales allowed him AFTER costs....to own the lower 50% PAID for....AFTER ALL FEDERAL CAPITAL GAINS TAXES AND COMMISSIONS!!!! (office and retail remaining) Jonny Carson bought a half floor...other celebrities (of that era) bought the rest.

It was THE place to live (why? Because HE said so...and he promoted it like a damned genius)...and...he owned the remaining building (where he currently lives)....keeping the top 2 floors for himself and....in 1982....owned 25 or 30 floors....the bottom 7 floors(retail) leased out to the most prestigious retailers on EARTH for the MOST expensive lease rates......ON......EARTH (Tokyo.....London.....NO ONE charged more)....but....it was all....paid for (by the above mentioned sales.....AFTER ALL COMMISSIONS and TAXES).....AND....he had 15 - 20 floors of office (also all paid for)....leased out for the highest rates in NYC.....and....I sat there in my seat on the way to Baltimore....now....exploding in laughter.....(Truly....my seat mates were wondering if I was sane but....I understood.....basic......simple math....didn't take a lot more than that).

I'd known for years this was possible (no one believed me of course) but....someone (DJT) just showed me how to do it.

Actually...that's not entirely true....he just proved what I'd always known...but I was too young to actually believe it myself.

"Only in America
" I thought....and I remember thinking at the time...."all I want to do is replicate what he just did....because....he just proved....it can be done".

(And on several occasions....over the last 30 some years....I've done EXACTLY......that).

(It's easy....unbelievably so).

(It's.....simple...no matter your scale)

It's a beautiful world and....anyone that doubts this man is....simply....missing what his skill sets.....are.

(And yours....if you believe in................you).

Yesterday (when the world was "ending"...when the entire WORLD was putting DOW futures at a nearly 1,000 point drop....we all saw the NEXT day at a 265 point rise and....today....it's at a RECORD (HISTORICAL.....as in....never {EVER BEFORE} having {EVER} been higher.....).......high.

The DOW Jones (stocks) have NEVER been higher in the history of the human race.

EVER.

*****************

Doubt this man at YOUR peril.

There are two things that are true:

Best time to plant an almond tree? 25 years ago.

Next best time?

TODAY.

The other?

Wanna be a millionaire?

Do what millionaires do.

(Pretty simple shit).

(S'wut I do....and have done....for 30+ years).

************************

Ladies and germs....please allow me to tell you....this guy has the chops. He's the real deal.

He knows how it's done.

GET BEHIND him.....trust me....you'll win!

(Stop fighting this man!)

He's our new Prez.

He's also YOUR Prez and....he's the Prez that's GOING to take YOU higher.

PERIOD.

He'll also make you wealth(ier)....if you stop putting up "fuck Trump" signs and actually....start holding HIM higher.

Support this man.

(He knows how it's done!).

He's now....THE Prez....let's stop all this "stop the Prez!!!" shit...(how's that worked for you so far???)....Get behind this man!

(You'll win).

Seriously.

He is not the greatest thing since sliced bread. (I like to slice my own bread actually)

But he's much better than Clinton.

Wait until he has another talk with Putin ad steps back a bit fro creating more terrorists in the middle east. He doesn't want the refugees, he should get the idea to quit creating them.

And then on to domestic problems after simply not creating more foreign problems.

Force people with money to invest in new businesses that will hire people. That was done by tax code decades ago, and that is pretty much the only tool the government has to "create" jobs. And more McDonald's are not going to cut it. We need factories and such, places that make electronic stuff. This is what made this country great when I was young. Not the fucking banks. And take bank profits out of the GDP, they don't belong there. And count ALL the unemployed except for the old, disabled and those who choose to be housewives or househusbands. To say the least, it is not going to be 5 %. And like the people like me, at five days, six hours I made thirty grand a year. Now I can hardly get any work. When I left my last good job there was product, but nobody had the money for it. Why ? Because there were no jobs.

And it is not getting better. It will take drastic action to fix this. And even though Trump, like Putin, might be unbuyable, Trump will be facing a congress that is buyable and actually has been bought. And that is assuming his intentions are good. Grabbing some pussy, oh well. He did some funky shit in business and maybe it is time for that in government.

Truer words were never spoken.

Watch for it....this dude's gonna shake the fucking world up.

Want your sea's protected? Sho nuff....write me a fucking check slackers. Otherwise...fight your own gawdamned wars.

Want 6 trillion (1.5 X annual GDP) brought back here to the U.S. to spend....here? Here ya go dudes...brand new 10% repatriation tax.....bring it home.

Want to see sales (and purchases....every seller has a buyer) of massive real estate and other assets changing hands in year ONE (creating MASSIVE tax revenues and jobs in the process)? Capital gains tax down to 20%max and...no more 3.8% premium on top of same. BOOM!!!

Wanna see taxes go down for the middle class (and lower still for the poor)? Read his tax policies....they're astounding and....favor the middle class and the poor....while also giving something (nowhere near as much) to the wealthy....who create jobs.

Folks....hate this man all you want...but....like conservatives (who didn't riot in the streets) when Obama got elected....or promised you "you can keep your doctor" (they....conservatives...who understand math....knew....by using a simple calculator....this doesn't add up)....they....I....said..."okay...fine...Obama is the Prez.....let's move forward"...

Hate him all you want....what he proposes....works.

You can have HSA's for the daily stuff and catastrophic coverage for the big shit....it's just math...it's not terribly complicated....your costs fall.

Give the guy two years.

(I can assure you...you'll be no less than impressed).

That's a pretty generous and superficial analysis.

That we control the seas makes our international shipping and de facto global control possible. To pull back means to cede the seas to China and Russia. Hard to see that happening.

I'm all for reigning in military spending -- but Trump has said he wants to dramatically expand it, and Republicans love to rubber stamp military spending, pretending that structural deficits don't matter (especially when he's planning massive tax cuts, which will considerably exacerbate that structural deficit...and wants to rebuild our roads/bridges infrastructure, which needs it, but which costs a fortune and has been opposed by Republicans in Congress). That $20 billion wall and the extra enforcement needed for the mass deportations he proposes don't come for free either.

It's a disaster before he does anything.

And that's before the unemployment from the trade war he aims to provoke.

Well, so it is written.

The mans a bankrupt imbecile. The only money he has is what he has ring fenced from your chapter malarkey laws. His cv reads like that of a deranged maniac. Presidential material it would appear.

Really???

Add up all that he wants to spend; infrastructure, education, military.
Add up all the tax cuts that he won't have coming in the other hand; handouts to big corporations and the rich.

On top of that, add up the loss of import duty he'd lose by raising tariffs to the point where trade crashes to a trickle.
Nice that he wants Americans to take up the slack, but the industry to make those goods are gone.
And the wage costs would be double that of immigrant workers so the cost of goods will rise a lot.

See that big hole????
Not only will you be able to drive a truck through it, you'll be able to roll half the planet through it!!

And that $20 trillion debt he harps on about??
That'll pale into insignificance by comparison.

What he is proposing will bankrupt the country.

cloudboy -> RE: All you Dump Trump folks.....read on: (11/13/2016 6:52:56 AM)

Sounds like a brochure for Trump University.

MrRodgers -> RE: All you Dump Trump folks.....read on: (11/13/2016 9:39:46 AM)

First of all, having something called a 'capital gains' tax and its low rate HURTS investment in making (manufacturing) something or doing something. (services) Even Reagan raised it and BTW tripled the payroll (Soc. Sec.) tax.

If taxes were raised on merely buying and selling things, also on mere paper transactions, it could allow for a lowered on that which and only for those which creates new hires...actual start-ups.

Trump's market in the property you describe according and to you, successful, is 1290 6 th Ave. 'Avenue of the Americas' and was for the very wealthy who are much more immune to the recession of the time. The rest is offices and reflect no such structure as you describe here. Unless you speak of another property, and if so...tell us which one. Also, this whole deal was a redo of a project (mixed use) built originally in 1963 and redone in 2012-13..

BTW., Trump is now down to 30% interest in the above property or less. It has 1.8 million sq. ft. of office with retail on 43 stories the bottom floors, so the above property seems to be the one you are describing. Vornado Realty Trust, which has a 70 percent interest in the property, signed a 10-year, $950 million refinance at 3.3 percent in November 2012.

Edwird -> RE: All you Dump Trump folks.....read on: (11/13/2016 1:05:03 PM)

I'm still trying to figure out the $6 trillion as being "1.5 X annual GDP," myself.

Last time the annual GDP was $4 trillion in nominal dollars was 1984, in constant dollars, 1965.

I know there have been dire predictions about a Trump economy from some corners, but that seems a bit overboard.

On the basis of his climate-change-denying views and plan to pull out of the Paris Convention alone, that would be simply impossible for environmentalists. They'd not see a choice other than to fight.

I'm sure you're correct. They have fought once already and lost. Well, more than that.

China and India are not going to stop burning fossil fuels to appease western environmentalists. There is no way the Paris convention was going to do anything about climate change except a socialist transfer of wealth from the U.S. To all of the little countries that had their hands out in Paris. Which was bassically all the Paris convention was for anyway. Obama may have agreed to a socialist transfer but he was never going to be able to come through with it. Sure he agreed. But he knew he'd be out of office and down the road before he ever had to put up. Now, the Paris convention will be in exactly the same position all of the other Obama promises will be. It was BS to start with, it sounded all good in the news, but it never meant a thing.

We're used to that here from Obama. Your environmentalist will get over it.

There's no doubt that the climate conventions have all been too weak for purpose, to date. I disagree about the 'socialist transfer of wealth': there was no chance of an agreement without such transfers. That was about intelligent self interest rather than socialism. However, none of that matters so much as the fact that an outright denier is on his way to the White House. What small chance there has been, and is, is stuffed. Environmentalists the world over are utterly horrified by Trump's win - I think with good cause. The only source of hope that some take is that he'll help to focus opposition. And the fact that a US presidency only lasts 8 years max, of course.

Trump's position on climate change isn't one to be disagreed with, because it doesn't even deserve the respect that disagreeing with it would require. It's a position that needs to be dumped outright. His view is stupid, selfish, mad, or a combination of all three.

On this subject more than any other (though by god there are a lot of others that could compete), he convinced me a long while ago that he's simply not fit to be president - even a bad president. He doesn't have the minimum of intellect, knowledge or personal qualities for the job.

Well they are wrong. We cannot afford this shit. Too bad, I don't like the idea of harming the environment but the people who want to force a change before the technology exists are the ones destroying the US economy.

And remember, it was a democrat who gave the oil companies the go ahead to frack and wreck our land with impunity. They are exempt from enviromental laws. Their chemicals are not safe, they do not use water and the shit they do use is know to cause kidney problems.

If you know how geology works and how land gets to be fertile you know these chemicals will be back to haunt us.

No, that is the debt. the deficit is when the government spends more than it takes in which causes more debt.

Some of that debt is owed to entities that are believed to be US entities but are not completely. Even the federal reserve has a ton of foreign shareholders. In fact I think most of them are.

The rest comes from selling bonds. That means someone has to want to buy those bonds and as the trade deficit (buying more than selling) gets worse then the credit rating of the US eventually goes down. What happens then is the US has to pay more interest to entice others to buy them, or not to dump them. If it goes up just one percent, on $20 trillion that is $200 billion. That is well over a grand for each working person in the country who pays taxes. Only a little over 100 million even file and as the middle and lower classes are losing ground on pay that means even less tax revenue which will accelerate the process.

There will be no recovery. The end of it all is default which means a hefty devaluation of the dollar erroneously called inflation. If we exportede more than we import that would be a good thing. But that is not the case.

No, the environmentalists are right. It's not even an argument outside of the USA, Termy. Trump's denialist views, and those of the people who support him on those views, aren't respectable. Trump, and the Americans who support his denialist views, just look ignorant, selfish or mad to the rest of the world. I'm sorry, but there it is. There are certain arguments that are still big and important in the USA that the rest of the first world has left behind, and this would be a prime example.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_debt_of_the_United_States#cite_note-4

On November 7, 2016, debt held by the public was $14.3 trillion or about 76% of the previous 12 months of GDP.[5][6][7][8] Intragovernmental holdings stood at $5.4 trillion, giving a combined total gross national debt of $19.8 trillion or about 106% of the previous 12 months of GDP.[7] $6.2 trillion or approximately 45% of the debt held by the public was owned by foreign investors, the largest of which were China and Japan at about $1.25 trillion for China and $1.15 trillion for Japan as of May 2016.[9]

Doing the math, the public debt holdings being 76% leaves 24% intergovernmental holdings.

PS

Checking the math in wiki's entry (after the fact, sorry), 14.3/19.8=72.2% in public debt holdings, and 5.4/19.8=27.3% in intragovernmental holdings. Not that it changes the point.
