So I'm on Amazon looking for a good read but literally every book and novel concerning BDSM Erotica seemed like a 50 Shades wannabe. I get a lot of these books are little more than wank material but I'd like for them to not be about some rich guy or highlander type warrior. The list of books that don't include such cliche's is very short. On the other hand it feels like literally every book is about some rich guy or something.

Huh. I think you and I live in different worlds.

I write and read a lot of FemDom and cuckold erotica. There is a metric fuckton of paranomal erotica. And alien. There is plenty of DD/bg stuff out there...

Thing is, Amazon censors their search results. So, you gotta look everywhere.

Are you really looking?

Usually I stop after reading about five different book discriptions. That's not counting the books I skip the ones that are titled things like: The Billionaire's... or The Alpha Billionaire's...

A few books have caught my eye like Dark Duet, Monster In His Eyes, and Tears of Tess.

I must admit, I picked up a Black Lace book a while ago and was impressed by it. I thought the stories in it were really imaginative. Actually, it somewhat put me off writing erotic fiction myself - I had this strong feeling that I couldn't match the stories in that book. But I'm not a great reader of erotic fiction. The chances are that what'll look new and interesting to me would look boring and samey to someone who is.

I sympathise with the irritation with the rich bloke / highlander thing, though. Bores the testicles off me.

Have you read any of Penny Birch's stuff?

Dunno - don't read much filth and if I masterbate it is usually to lesbian massage porn what happened to you wicked Its why i like eyes you know ;) if you wondered.

Hmm the Story of O is actually okay. The Secretary strangely erotic, and then you have you game of thones and true blood

Literotica as DS says, go there. Strangely a site ive visited half a dozen times x 12 years - wonders if its format has changed any?

Stay away from bad porn/writings & monstrous stereotypes they/that/those have much to answer for. And the primary reason for bad press

There's some great stuff on there, but there's also an awful lot of dreck as well.

WD: the best thing about Secretary is comparing the original story to the film.

I know its origin....I will thrash you with the kitchen sink if you make one more presumptive statement about me..malarkey aside she should have got an Oscar for that.

There are probably 20 films or less I view as masterpieces https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secretary_(2002_film)

Books about 5

You're aware that the original short story does not end happily and presents the guy in question as an abusive shit with anything kinky happening between pages and it all being a repulsive breach of ethics rather than anything even slightly sexy, then?
[:D]

To my mind the biggest part of the problem with the lack of originality and invention in erotic fiction is down to the lack of originality and invention in eroticism. Fetishes are limited, repetitive and (if we're honest) dull as a result of this. Unless you're wired to respond to a bit of fet.porn because it speaks to your kinks it'll be the most boring and ridiculous bit of fiction outside of the other zillion bits of very similar fet.porn that are very similar because they speak to the same kinks in the same way. The really depressing thing is the way smutty fiction that tries to do something new with the same material looks desperate rather than innovate most of the time.
