You know..This brings up some interesting questions. I love ECON and since this question seems to be missing a question and not sure how this relates to BDSM anyway...I get to go off on my own tangent & amuse myself. 1. How do findommes keep records? Is there a QuickBooks program? 2. Do they send you a 1099 on Dec 31? Do you file a Schedule C? 3. What are your allowed deductions? Do you amortize your computer? DOes the IRS allow you to write off your internet and data charges? 4. Isn't the whole "privacy" thing lost anyway when you file your tax returns? 5. What about professional insurance? IS there malpractice? Do you have your subs sign a release? Suppose you order him to go outside naked and don't tell him to put on sunscreen. Are you liable for his sunburn? Can he get pain and suffering? 6. Has any FD ever sued for not fulfilling a contract? What about the sub who was unhappy with your services? I think Judge Judy would probably be willing to hear the case... See...THIS is what happens to those of us with hyperactive brains when we can't sleep.

I haven't read her book, so cannot comment on that. It is very unwise to try and cheat the taxman unless you are a millionaire or multi-national business with expensive lawyers and accountants at your disposal. They do love to go after small sole-traders and make an example of them.

That's a nice idea, but I think you've missed a couple of points there: 1) The biggest block of clients for Professsional Dominatrices at the moment appear to have grown up during the late '60s and early '70s, so the connection between male submissives paying to get dominated and growing up in a sexually repressed era may not be there at all. 2) In the event that there is a connection between a taste for femdom and growing up in a sexually repressed era, it's not inconceivable that the cultural shifts to the right during the '80s and '90s have spawned a whole new generation of subby males, and that's a process that's been speeding up since the turn of the millennium if anything. Just look, to pick an obvious example, how completely gay bashing has been normalised since the late '90s. Legally, matters continue to improve, but socially, not so much.
