Donald Trump on Sunday told his supporters to stop harassing minorities, in his first televised sit-down interview since becoming President-elect.
"I am so saddened to hear that," Trump told CBS' Lesley Stahl on "60 Minutes" when she said Latinos and Muslims are facing harassment. "And I say, 'Stop it.' If it -- if it helps, I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras: 'Stop it.'"
Trump directed his comments to his own supporters whom Stahl said have written racist slogans or chanted degrading messages -- particularly in schools.
"I would say don't do it, that's terrible, because I'm going to bring this country together," Trump said.

A Muslim woman said Sunday that her viral article explaining why she voted for Donald Trump has angered her liberal pals as well as other Muslims.

Asra Nomani declared herself one of President-elect Donald Trump’s silent supporters in an opinion piece she wrote in the Washington Post Thursday called "I'm a Muslim, a woman and an immigrant. I voted for Trump."

“As you can tell I don’t have horns on my head, right, but nonetheless I am now being characterized as a traitor, to my own liberals as an idiot, names that I can’t even repeat on air,” she told "Fox & Friends."

The former Wall Street Journal reporter also said fellow Muslims have told her they hope Allah sends her “to the gates of hell.”

“But you know none of that matters to me because I’m getting more responses than in my 30 years in journalism from people who are saying, ‘Thank you,’ because they too are fed up with the polarization,” she said.

The 51-year-old woman wrote in the Post that she voted for President Obama in 2008 and 2012, but she became a Trump voter over the issue of Islamic terrorism.

“As a liberal Muslim who has experienced, first-hand Islamic extremism in this world, I have been opposed to the decision by President Obama and the Democratic Party to tap dance around the ‘Islam’ in Islamic State,” she wrote.

Nomani told "Fox & Friends" she knows Trump is not an Islamaphobic or a racist or a bigot.

“He is insensitive at times with what he says and his proposals are tough, but they reflect a reality of concern people have about an issue that’s killing people from Orlando to Paris,” she said.

However, most of what is going on wouldn't be going on if he had been a little more careful with his rhetoric during the campaign. Like it or not, his rhetoric has encouraged the batshit racist folks, many of them are under the impression that his election means that overt racism is now acceptable in the US.

In that same article. He explains this.
"Well, sometimes you need a certain rhetoric to get people motivated," Trump said. "I don't want to be just a little nice monotone character, and in many cases I will be."

Unfortunately, to win an election. You need a big personality. Be a good Orator and bank on the right demographic to appeal to. I can tell you, every single interview Trump gets questioned on abortion makes him so obviously uncomfortable, as I know Trump is innately pro-choice. But the party he runs under is pro-life, so I always feel him choking up on any pro-life questions. And he did again in this specific interview.
Anyway, I just want to say that Obama had more white people on top of minorities voting for him than Hillary or Trump. So that is pretty cool too. Shows most of America is not racist.

And what you are basically saying is that he is just another lying politician who will say whatever he needs to in order to get elected, you know, having a public position and a private position.

How people interpreted his statement is another story.
Now he is just telling them to stop harassing minorities as that was not his message.

His message was simply. We want legal immigrants in, and illegal immigrants out.

That was all his message was about.

To blame this on him is ridiculous.

Oh and, the banning of all Muslims, until they can figure out how to properly vet them. It's not a political correct solution, but a very very practical solution.

The difference is, with Trump, it is obvious. He wears his heart on his sleeves. Like when he says he is now pro-life. I knew that wasn't true. I can tell.

He is a democrat all his life.

He is running as a republican. He has to turn his back on some democrat philosophy. You can't possibly win a republican primary pushing democrat philosophy right?

This is very different from politicians who I can't really tell what their true intentions are.

Nobody has a conscience or a sense of what's right or wrong unless they are told be the president and the loser in an election ? Amazing !!!

Hey, I didn't get my own way, so that makes it all fine and dandy for me to go and loot somebody's store, whether I know how they voted or not.

There is looting going on, yes ? Now does that hurt Clinton ? Trump ? Or the poor bastard who owns the store ? Do they really give a shit ?

I've seen riots and looting in a variety of countries and it was just violence and simmering hate coming out of animals with no set target.

No, they are doing it, because they are angry about Trump's appointment. They want to express their anger and dissatisfaction with the results and this is how they chose to do it.

FootBall Hooligans also cause trouble because they might want to express anger about their team losing.

Have you never seen adults who lost it and destroys everything around them? Smashing and breaking things? I have.

Half of them probably never voted but they can be anonymous in the crowd and do things they would be too chicken to do if they were on their own. They aren't protesting FOR or Against anything to do with the election. The mob has taken to the streets and there is no stopping it until it runs out of fuel or blood.

They were a mob and he just happened to be there when they happened to have a tire and few gallons of petrol.

So naturally, many cannot accept the results that "evil" is now gonna run their country, and they want to save their country!

Actually, left media plays alot of part in fanning the flames.

Now everybody needs to say, everything is gonna be okay. Work towards 4 years later.

4 years later, come back strong. Vote Bernie lol. I believe Bernie will run 4 years later.

Status: offline 		It would take a Ghandhi or a Mandela to get anything like that to happen and I don't see either trump or clinton in those roles. The mob will just have to wear itself out like a forest fire does. Then the big clean-up and stocktake has to take place.

What a person actually knows (or doesn't) and what he thinks he's attacking in the passion of the moment are frequently at odds. Personally, I think Hillary should at least try to throw some water on this insanity. But I have to admit, I wouldn't be surprised if the core of the protesters just turned on her as a traitor to the cause for her efforts, and I suspect she has kept silent because she knows that.
