Greta75 -> Obama taking the high road on Trump (11/14/2016 10:32:52 PM)

Mainstream media is just pretty weird.

They are reporting Obama's cordial attitude towards Trump, as like, as if it's a bad thing or something and questioning why is he bothering to take the high road?

Obama has been kind to Trump since Trump has been elected.

I would think, as with any other President, this is the gracious thing to do. To have a smooth transition of power. This is the right thing to do.

Not to further fan the flames of a divided country and pick a side.

It's precisely insinuation like this that I can't stand the left media!! Just fucking report the damn news!! Don't "insert" your personal opinions in it!

In fact, Obama was so complimentary towards Trump that it was tempting to wonder whether he had ulterior motives beyond the smooth transfer of power.

Yes, he showed more class than I thought he was capable of.

Like I wrote, Obama has been counting the days until he can get the hell out of that fucking white house, as of 11/14 about 68 and counting...isn't it ? I think he's gett'n outta Dodge now for a few weeks.

Also because at a mere 55 years young, he's now heading into simply the sweetest fucking job in the world...ex-US president. So he can 'afford' to be gracious. So can HRC what with a marital net worth now of about $150 million, with govt. pensions and bennys.

I wouldn't blame Obama if he hit some Caribbean island say about Feb. '17 and just slept on the beach for a month solid. Now though I am sure...comes the BHO Library.

Obama is very committed to a proper hand over. He has asked the people to respect the democratic process and asked democrats to reflect on why they lost and move on from there to get things together again for the next election. I guess the problem with the reflection is their conclusion might be, "Because people are racist, sexist, homophobic", that's why they lost. Instead of, "They have been condescending and dismissive of the sufferings of white poor and uneducated folks, like their lives don't matter. Only black poor people and minorities lives matter. They didn't treat all races equally and afforded equal concern to all their plights." That is the reality of their loss.

I think at the end of his term, he is being reflective. And you know, end of the day, everyone makes decisions what they felt or thought was right at that point of time. But what done is done. He did what he felt was best for the country.

Yea, end of the day, no President can really completely ruin America, since you got a whole senate and congress blocking the President at every way. There are so many check and balances. It also prevent things from getting done, but it also prevents like a total disaster.

Our PM was very reflective of the American Election results and Brexit on how it applies to our country. And more than ever, he said, that we need to consider the concerns of every fraction of society and how to balance all their needs and address all their concerns equally. Make sure nobody gets left behind. I like my own leader. He is doing a good job.
