You do what you want in your family. But in my family you can't walk in there with a Ukrainian and not get thrown out.
You like that Chinese food and culture (such that it is) or little Italy with those small restaurants making that great food ? Or the Greeks who are experts at seafood ? How about the Polish with the halubki (stuffed cabbage) and perogi ? You want to have those things in the future someone has to keep the heritage.
That means Anna's new Husband Abdul does not forbid her from making these foods. That means their children know if their heritage and embrace it.
The separation does not mean stratification. I have been in black people's houses were cleaner than mine and I have never had roaches. Working on their TV I saw a Woman cooking dinner and putting out plates just like we used to. We don't anymore because we all eat separately. But they get together as a family and eat, like damn, this is White America years ago, and they have it now.
It really is their turn to have some of the good life. And you know what ? It took us 2,000 years to develop this society to how it is. They have come out of the jungle and adapted in about 200 years. Think about that.
And yes, it was illegal to teach Blacks to read in some slave states and don't let the assholes confuse you. they claim they taught them so the Blacks who were nannies or whatever could teach their kids. This is such a bunch of fucking bullshit I refuse to look it up. If I were a southern cotton farmer my kids would be in a community school, not being taught by people I consider somewhat less than human. (I mean them, not me here, while there are people I consider less than human that is not determined by race) And if I was Black and told to do it, I would fuck it up bigtime and hopefully insidiously.
That is what destroyed the USSR. Not the the US outspent them, that has nothing to do with it. They said "They pretend to pay us so we pretend to work". Reject rates out the ass, infant mortality rates out the ass, they couldn't build anything because they hated the country.

But about the tattoos, people are all into symbolism. I don't even shake hands. I bow to nobody, I never call anyone "sir" unless one of them in a position of power to cut me a break has done so, then it is "Thank you Sir". That is it.
HA, I just remembered, a guy came to see my roomie tattoo guy and instead of having it removed he wanted it modified. The word "fuck this bitch" come to mind but that was not the final tattoo. He overlayed something on it. Something with wigs or whatever.
I have none and it is staying that way. My sister has one, the Greek letter Omega. I went to a family funeral that did draw in most of the family and I saw no tattoos on anyone and no earrings on any males. I am proud of that and if anyone doesn't like it they can go fuck themself. I'm serious, all this hardware like Africans with the bone in the nose. (how the fuck do they breathe ?)
