It continues to begin...

It already began the moment Trump ran for President since his Primaries. These NBA guys are a little late in the game.

Trump knew his own business would be hurt IF he was gonna run on those agendas he ran on.

He was prepared to sacrifice his business.

As what he says himself, what is filling hotel occupancy in comparison to the big things he is gonna do as President? It's insignificant now.

And I detest posting links from my phone, so I'm not going to bother. But at least three building in New York that currently carry the Trump name will go through a name change by Wednesday. Residents of the buildings successfully petitioned for it. They said it was just to embarrassing to tell people where they lived.

Shold be pretty easy to find on Google.

A cynic might wonder if the Presidency is an excuse for him to start shedding his business holdings...

Just another knee jerk reaction by a couple of liberals. Boycotts work both ways. The Trump supporters might just decide to boycott NBA games.

OK. Enjoy...er...forego enjoying.

Agree with the "knee-jerk reaction" comment, and yes, boycotts do work both ways, but boycotts rarely have equal results in both directions.
In this case, the NBA has a product wanted by many people and which is not easily replaced.
However, there are lots of other high-end hotels where people can stay besides the Trump-owned ones.

Maybe he's thinking that the circus peanut's base are more into whiter sports than basketball, and boycotts are nothing to be worried about unless they're coming from NASCAR or the WWE?

I don't watch much Trump TV. In fact I was recently amused to discover "The Apprentice" ran for eleven years. I believed it was a one or two year thing. Silly me. But, I do recall a news type show years ago where it discussed with Trump that he was something like two billion dollars in debt. I think that would have been the time to shed his businesses. Now, I'd guess, he is either interested in doing what he campaigned on, fixing the U.S., or he is interested in a new challenge.

The moment of our reckoning continues to close in.

What, losing the taxpayer's money rather than his own?
That's never been a challenge for a Republican President.

servantforuse -> RE: 3 NBA teams boycott Trump hotels (11/16/2016 10:06:26 AM)

Buck's owner Mark Lasry is a hypocrite. He had no problem taking money from Wisconsin taxpayers ( a red state, by the way ) to build a new arena in Milwaukee. Good luck with your boycott. I suggest it will only bring in other guests to the Trump hotels.

Edwird -> RE: 3 NBA teams boycott Trump hotels (11/16/2016 4:17:36 PM)

Yeah, I can see all the suck-ass loser Trump voters lining up now to book room in Trump hotel in counter to the NBA.

A dagger, that is.

Will the league survive?

Robert Kraft went to visit Trump today.

servantforuse -> RE: 3 NBA teams boycott Trump hotels (11/16/2016 4:25:23 PM)

I normally go to 4 Packer games each year at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, and 4 to 5 Bucks games here in Milwaukee. I will not be going to a Bucks game this year.

Musicmystery -> RE: 3 NBA teams boycott Trump hotels (11/16/2016 4:28:24 PM)

I think they'll squeak by.

When the NBA does it, it's a symbolic and noticeable gesture.

When you do it, just means you watch the game on ESPN later.

servantforuse -> RE: 3 NBA teams boycott Trump hotels (11/16/2016 4:37:32 PM)

The boycott is a joke either way. The Bucks didn't have an issue staying at a Trump hotel in Chicago before the election. Maybe the Bucks play 6 games in New York this winter. I don't think Trump is to worried .

Somebody of importance from a region where the second whitest thing is snow reaching out to Trump.

Who'd a thunk it?

That's what 'coming together' is all about.

I like living here.

Edwird -> RE: 3 NBA teams boycott Trump hotels (11/16/2016 5:05:07 PM)

I'm sure you do.

I like living where I am too. More especially, glad I grew up here.

But we can trade regional weather effect jokes if you like.

My county being 54% black would likely freak you out, but you could still laugh at us when we shut everything down after counting 88 flakes of snow, just as several cities in the north shut everything down when the temp reaches 88 degrees.

I think we had something like 80+ days of high temp above 90 this summer. Two weeks straight of 95+, if I recall.
