I LOVE Mexican immigrants. My eldest son married one. She came here legally. I used to live in a *very* mezo-American neighborhood. I LOVED it (except on cinqo de mayo). I have no use for those (from ANY country) that enter our country illegally or over-stay their visas. The issues in relation to illegal Mexican and Central American immigrants is the financial drain, both in services offered to illegals and the shipping of our dollars overseas. The issue with open borders, as I mentioned before, can best be illustrated by taking an honest look at how open borders are working out for Europe. We must be the only civilization in history, when faced with an angry horde bent on wiping them out has yelled: "Throw open the gates! Throw yourselves on their swords/stand in front of their bullets!". Yeah. That'll fuckin' teach 'em. Michael

Yup, there's no shortage of high school dropouts and people with bogus college "degrees" to do those jobs. I picked flowers and tomatoes when I was 12-13 after school. It was hard "stoop labor" but I liked it and made $1.00 an hour.

Unemployment is so messed up that the way it's set up now, it incentives people to apply for jobs they are slightly unqualified for, and stay unemployed. That's the best way to game the current system. It also messes up any chance to having real data for true unemployment... Why again is universal basic income such a bad idea? Seems like it would encourage people to be entrepreneurs...

Small limited govt. is for when Democrats are in. When Republicans have an agenda, it's patriotism and God Fearing Righteousness, not big govt. interfering in personal rights and local/State governance. And, of course, Multi-National Corporation benefits. The latest circuit court ruling (This week) says local control of GMO labeling and restrictions on planting as well as reporting on toxic pesticide and herbicide usage just got banned as superseded by Federal Authority. Big Ag and Big Pharm combined beat any local or State movement. They own Congress and the Judiciary is following along on a leash. Little chance the SCOTUS will rule on this before Trump knocks it back to pre-depression Right values. Only reverence among the Nine for precedence might save a few of the modernizations of US law.

please pay attention in life. generally speaking democrats AND republicans value different things and are willing to use government to achieve those ends. however, even in that paradigm, the republicans are at least beholden to the constitution, while its the democrats who are notorious for exceeding its limitations. whats more, within the republican party is a strain of people who are indeed for a smaller more limited government. to act like they don't exist is a misrepresentation. lastly, in part what youre pointing out when it comes to government size/power, though I don't think for a moment it was your intent, is the corruption on a person's principles when they find themselves in power.
