A group of academics, lawyers and data experts is also trying to persuade the Clinton team to join their effort to investigate the results in three states to check there was no foreign computer hacking that manipulated the outcome.

They are curious why Ms Clinton performed worse in counties that relied on electronic voting machines compared to paper ballots and optical scanners.
But her campaign has not indicated any interest in joining a fight for a recount.

The Green party candidate, Jill Stein, is raising funds to request a recount in the same states - Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, all won by Mr Trump.

Comrade Trump could not be reached for comment.

What would be the point of doing so? The Republicans have past form for stopping a recount if their candidate has been appointed by the electoral college rather than the popular vote.

I know you aren't from here, but do you understand that Gore didn't want a full recount, he only wanted to recount the counties that would help him. He could likely have gotten his fourth recount if he had made the request for a statewide recount but anyone who understands statistics at all would know that a statewide recount wouldn't have helped him.

The Florida election recount of 2000 was a period of vote recounting in Florida that occurred during the weeks after Election Day in the 2000 United States presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. The Florida vote was ultimately settled in Bush's favor by a margin of 537 votes when the U.S. Supreme Court, in Bush v. Gore, stopped a recount that had been proposed by the Florida Supreme Court. That in turn gave Bush a majority of votes in the Electoral College and victory in the presidential election something very off about that one. It would appear that election was fixed.

here are a couple of better articles

http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2016/11/18/election-audit-paper-machines-column/93803752/ I tend to accept the 95% confidence thing or bell end curve

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election-statisticians-vote-audit-hacking-donald-trump-hillary-clinton-a7434516.html

Ah I was reading how they cast votes in various states...there is no continuity x marks the spot to Iris scans And it also said 25% do not have a paper trail - thats fuking ridiculous. Seems to me few states audit...councils (is it councils?) audit

Monster is always on about the system being rigged I wonder how he would react, and the Republicans are behind their monster now - probably for shoving it out the white house sooner, not later, and tuppence will take up the reigns...but the man is backtracking on everything he stood for in the election..so its possible it will not happen...although his cv makes for horrific reading/.. If I presented that to and employer I would be hurled into a volcano, or prison.

Their system (ive only just realised) is open to widespread potential abuse & easily manipulated. And understand the Russians are exceptionally desperate for cash...i know America hacks/data dumps all electronic commuication, and GHQ.

All elections should be audited. Not just this one.

But only about 53% of their eligible electorate bother to vote so apathy may won the day.

They are all paper ballots in the UK and every result counted within 1 day, 2 tops for exceptionally rare exceptions, and they can request a recount there and then. UK = state – so for the land of democracy surely no problem for them and they are still counting. …Iris scan ffs..whats next a spunk sample.

LordHawke -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 12:35:33 AM)

it was announced today that Trump took Michigan

Greta75 -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 4:30:12 AM)

Personally, just freaking do the recount. It might ease the whole country too, especially all the unhappy ones.

I mean when Trump suggested the Election was rigged, Hillary supporters laughed.

Now they are the ones crying it is rigged lol.

Just recount to make them happy poor Hillary wasn't cheated!

The protests aren't happening because they think the election was rigged. None of the anger about Trump's election is because anyone thinks that Hillary was cheated.

The protests are happening because of how Trump has been presenting himself... that is all.

It doesn't matter what Gore wanted as it was a state wide recount that was illegally stopped in 2000.

Personally, I believe that ALL elections have been rigged since 1896 (William Jennings Bryan Vs. William McKinley) when J.P. Morgan, John Rockafeller, and Andrew Carnegie decided they needed to set the course for the country.

I honestly wish that were true, but I don't think it is.
If elections were rigged, why the fuck would whoever is rigging them put someone like Trump in the white house??

Awareness -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 8:09:02 AM)

It's a source of spectacular irony that now it's the Clinton feeltards who are rejecting the results of the election despite their sanctimonious advisories to Trump supporters to "accept the outcome".

Said sentiments were, of course, expressed prior to the humiliation of their pantsuit and her proxies.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 9:59:00 AM)

I think she accepted them. Unless something has changed in the last day?
But if they can easily hack bitch bints servers then the county machines are nothing to them.

Pay attention the Russians heavyblinker They have no cash, sanctions bite hard...and never forget the loon with the mad orange mop on his lobotomised head invited them to find the missing 25 000 emails, after they already hacked her servers and leaked the information. They view him as more sympathetic a fuking idiot already in their debt.

I was bit taken aback at how they have shag all safe guards in place, nothing to check for malware/spyware, nor any requirement to audit and check the efficacy of the results - easily done to a 95% confidence level.

Edwird -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 11:46:08 AM)

Perhaps your poll should be re-themed.

Would you rather know:

A; terminology for the digital equivalent of hanging chad

B; the Russian words for hanging chad

Greta75 -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 4:47:45 PM)

So Jill Stein has started the recount in Wisconsin. Good!

1984 was a humiliation.... but over 2 million more people voted for Clinton, so it's not exactly a humiliation. The most painful aspect of the election was losing to a complete fucking imbecile like Trump... but that wasn't humiliating so much as a terrifying glimpse into just how dangerously stupid American voters can be.

No Gore's people insisted on partial recounts till after the STATE imposed deadline to ask for a recount had passed.
There was a statewide recount in 2000 and Bush won that then the Gore campaign started cherry picking counties that would help them and only the counties that would help them. This is the reason for the Supreme Courts ruling, equal representation. I understand your view and the information was filtered several times by the time it got to you and you only listen to left wing sources.

If the Dems hadn't run someone as bad as Hillary I most likely would have voted for them. Hillary was most likely the only person running for President who was scarier that Trump.

LordHawke -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/25/2016 9:39:12 PM)

the problem was nobody trusted not only Hillary..and not only another Clinton, but the whole Washington establishment was put on notice

You're trying to speak to a frustrated restaurant critic, here.

"A source of spectacular irony," searching for "a most stunning irony," in pursuit of "a most remarkable irony," -taking pause of self to refresh hyper-dramatic impulse- "a staggering irony," etc., waiting for the slightest hitch from his fully imagined and thoroughly contrived opposition, waiting for that magical moment when he can come to fullest realization he will ever attain in life; "Oh, the delicious irony."

Lucylastic -> RE: Was the US election rigged? (11/26/2016 3:23:09 AM)

to the OP only.
Given the clusterfuck of the run up and the result, it would be a spectacular explosive end to the year.
