If it went nuclear, yes.
I was thinking more of America's less than stellar scorecard for winning wars (or "police actions" or whatever you want to call invading another country) since world war two and how that compares to the recent expansion of the Russian federation, but that is an excellent point I'd not been thinking of that you made.

Leaving aside the nuclear issue, you seem to assume that America would invade Russia. Neither country is in position to successfully invade the other. At worst, there would be a proxy war as there has been in the past. I doubt the Russian Federation is financially capable. Maybe the US is not as well.

Anyway, not to worry. Trump will make such a deal! Oy! (Yiddish accent)
