ORIGINAL: freedomdwarf1 No wall. That glorious pristine beautiful wall that he constantly talked about. "And who's gonna pay for the wall?? The Mexicans." And in a TV interview (60 minutes?) he said that some parts could stay as a fence rather than a wall. So... not rhetoric about immigration control - a real wall. Campaign promise failed. Every Trump voter knows the wall is a suggestion to fix illegal immigration. I always said once he gets more info on how things work within, he will have to tweak his plans to still achieve the same thing, but maybe in a different way. Try looking at the many TV presentations that were at his rallies. Try looking at the many TV interviews he's had after he won. He categorically stated it would be a wall - a real wall, paid for by the Mexicans. He even stated that some parts of it could remain as a fence instead of a wall. It wasn't rhetoric about fixing immigration, he was truly talking about building a big beautiful wall. quote:

Scrap Obamacare. Really? He's back-pedalled and now says he's keeping most of it and changing some bits. Campaign promise failed. Actually, throughout his campaign and his interviews and debates. He was talking about getting everybody insurance coverage, but in a way where it can be cheaper for everybody. And it wouldn't be compulsory. Personally the "removing Obama care" from it, would be simply literally removing the word "obama care" from it. He will change it to something more successful. You gotta stop just reading the mainstream sound bites and one liners about Trump, and really watch in his indepth interviews. I spent hours watching the US elections - not just the soundbites. He stated many times that he was going to scrap Obamacare. In one of the primaries and in many of his rallies he clearly stated that Obamacare is "...going out the window folks". He also stated quite clearly that he was going to completely replace it. Since he was elected, he says he's going to keep it and tweak it. Perhaps it's you who ought to take notice of what he's saying rather than what you think he's saying or putting your spin on it. quote:
ORIGINAL: Greta75 quote:
Total and complete ban on Muslims entering the country. Not happening. It's probably unconstitutional and not even possible. Campaign promise failed. This was already changed to some Muslims when there was backlash about discrimination about innocent Muslims. And now they are looking at a Muslim registry. The beauty is, every issue, Trump is gonna do something about it as promise, but without full extensive inside information, he can only make suggestions from whatever limited information he has on the challenges of implementation. I gave you a link to his quote somewhere earlier. He categorically stated that he was going to totally and completely ban all Muslims entering the country. Whatever he wants to do with Muslims, it's almost certainly against the constitution and impossible. Yet he still screeched it at every opportunity; on TV and at his rallies. Perhaps you need to re-tune your selective comprehension. quote:
ORIGINAL: Greta75 quote:
Crooked Hillary is going to be prosecuted and go to jail. Not happening. He also promised a 'special prosecutor' to put her in jail for her crimes. Now he says he doesn't want to harm her. He even congratulated her on her years of hard work in office. No special prosecutor; no prosecution. Campaign promise failed. No Trump voters cares about Hillary prosecution after she is prevented from being President. And infact this shows that Trump is kind and not vindictive. He is not gonna prosecute his daughter's best friend's mother. I expected this. Ah!! So you expected him to to lie all thru his campaign and not honour his promise to his supporters?? Sounds about right coming from someone with blinkered vision. quote:
ORIGINAL: Greta75 quote:
Scrap the TPP. Really?? From what I've heard, he might withdraw the US from it, but it won't be cancelled. Campaign promise failed. Trump always just wanted US to pull out of TPP. TPP is an Asian thing. In Asia itself, our news are having alot of drama about TPP now, because many Asian countries don't want to continue with it IF US pulls out. They only want in, IF US is in it. It might be totally scrape. Many Asian countries see no benefits to them, as they wanted to just exploit US. TPP was agreed between all 12 countries. Most think it's a reasonable deal and will help with international trade. Only Trump thinks it's unfair to the US and wants to scrap it. quote:
ORIGINAL: Greta75 quote:
Fighting for the little man against the corrupt bankers of Wall Street. One of his main campaign points - fighting against Corporate America. Yet he has appointed soo many corporate people into his team including an ex Goldman Sachs man! Campaign promise failed. Actually, he was more against establishment, politicians who are doing what Wall Street wants them to do. I think he has appointed alot of business people. Yes he has. And most of them total establishment supporters and many billionaires who made money via the establishment and Wall Street. He's a hypocrite. quote:
ORIGINAL: Greta75 Including put two women in important roles. I find all his selections very interesting. Including even thinking of Mittens as Secretary of State, most unexpected! And could upset GOP. It continues to show he is his own man and not beholden to anybody. He is what people voted for. He's actually changed tack on a lot of things he promised during the campaign. That's NOT what people voted for. quote:
ORIGINAL: Greta75 He wants a team, that is gonna bring back financial health, economical health and the key promise is, bring more jobs back to US, and increase wages. That was what people voted for. And bring manufacturing back to the US. This is very good that he is already working on it with Carrier. And there's quite a few 'in the know' and economists who think his strategy is disaster and will bankrupt the country. There's no way he can cut corporate tax rates to 15% and invest what he wants to in the infrastructure - the numbers just don't add up. And how is he going to bring back jobs to the US?? First, he has to fix the infrastructure. Second, he has to get education up to meet the needs of companies relocating back to the US and the new industries he wants to revive. Both of these will take many years, even decades. He doesn't have the money or the time to get these done even if he manages to get everything passed thru the senate and congress without a hitch. And I'm not a Hillary supporter either. I think they are both as bad as each other in different ways. But on balance, I think Trump is marginally the worst of the two.
