CNN apologizes for producer’s joke about a Trump plane crash
By Bob Fredericks
December 2, 2016 | 5:25pm

CNN apologized and disciplined a producer who was caught on tape Thursday joking about Donald Trump’s plane crashing as it arrived in Indianapolis, a new report said Friday.

A video showed veteran CNN correspondent Suzanne Malveaux prepping for a live shot and talking to the unidentified producer as Team Trump was arriving to crow about a deal with air conditioner manufacturer Carrier to save about 800 jobs from moving to Mexico.

“If I do this, it means he’s landed,” the producer said. “That means his plane’s crashed — no, I’m kidding.”

The video showed Malveaux — who joined the network in 2002 — reacting with a stunned face but laughing at the remark.

“An unfortunate and inappropriate remark was made by one of our producers off camera yesterday,” a CNN rep said in a statement, Business Insider reported.

“We have apologized to the Trump transition team, and the producer has been disciplined.”

Trump routinely lambastes the media in general but has also singled out some outlets for verbal abuse, including CNN.

During a meeting with media bigs at Trump Tower last month, he went after CNN President Jeff Zucker for what the president-elect said was coverage that was biased against him.

not fox, but a GOP senator.
GOP Senator David Perdue Jokes About Praying for Obama’s Death
The freshman senator from Georgia quoted scripture at a right-wing Christian confab to say the president's days should be short.

At a major event for conservative Christians this morning, a Republican senator joked about praying for President Obama’s “days to be short.”
Sen. David Perdue, a freshman senator from Georgia, opened his remarks at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference by encouraging attendees to pray for President Obama. But, he added in a joking tone, they need to pray for him in a very specific way: “We should pray for him like Psalms 109:8 says: Let his days be few, and let another have his office,” the senator said, smiling wryly.

Of course ted nugent has had quite a lot to say about obama

Are any of those statements made by a news organization? On air? .No...made by a Senator who answers...supposedly...to his constituents. As for Nugent...he answers to his fan base. Sort of like the Dixie Chicks.

CNN however, holds itself out as "the most trusted news network". News is supposed to be unbiased. That's what makes it news. One good thing though...anybody reading this should be able to predict what direction ANY "news" presented about our new President will take.

Come on someone from the left...with as racist and hateful as FOX is, surely there must be footage of one of their news reporters (not commentators) making a joke about something just as horrible happening to Obama. Cite it.

yes its a commentator/analyst, it WAS fox....but I knew you would close in your goalposts.

snorts, btw..I dont know if you notice, but very few people trust CNN since Zucker took over...did you watch any of it over the campaign?? they hired lewandowski ffs.no CNN is NOT the most trusted news network, just as fox isnt fair and balanced...
you can find my specific posts yourself regarding CNN for the past year, I know Ive made them.

if you want flubs by news anchors, there are plenty of vids out there(including a fox news host saying Obama was dead. he meant Osama Bin Laden), ...and lets be real...she said she was kidding , straight after saying it...you really are sad.

ps your OP title is Can anyone cite when FOX...or any other network... made a joke like this about President Obama?
Now im pretty sure a couple of networks showed those clips of nugent, and purdue, and the fox :analyst: BUT if not...the man was a producer...not a host, or on air, just caught on tape(off air. There is a difference.
man you winners sure are whiny.

Let me ask you, a question....
sorta related...
Jill Stein goes thru the "proper channels" to get some recounts done in three states. She raises money to do so. Im not discussing her motives, or the "hillary made her do it" conspiracies, Im just talking about the "proper channels", to query the votes cast.
Donald Trump takes to twitter to say that he won the popular vote, because there were 3 million illegal voters. Where is his proof, where is his evidence, what is the source of his information?
He also said the election is rigged before it happened.
How many people will buy donalds tweet and think stein is in the wrong?? or maybe that he is just doing things "his way" and its not an issue?

Before your self-righteous butt breaks out in flames . . .

1) No one is arguing in defense of CNN here. Handled and over. Go have some coffee.

2) If you really want to hold up FOX as the gold standard, I've NO doubt someone with time to kill could dig up a mountain of inappropriate reporting.

3) We haven't had "news" in this country for 20 years, and the situation is going downhill from there, faster and faster.

Move on from faux-rage and get worked up over actual issues. A lot of them need solving.

That means doing something other than posting on discussion boards.

Go volunteer somewhere. They will be glad to see you.

Says the man with 23,000 - something posts since joining in 2005 to the man with 10,000 - something post since joining one year later. Take your own advice.

Way to dodge the point and assert your self-righteousness pointlessly.

She has every right to ask for a recount as long as she can provide a good reason for doing so and can fund it. As for Trump tweeting about illegal voters, from what I've seen so far it is bombastic nonsense with no hard data...only speculation...to support it. You know...sort of like " if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor".

I do find it odd that the media takes Steins rather vague explanations for the "necessity" of a recount so seriously while at the same time, dismissing ANY suggestion of illegal voting...whether it is in the hundreds, thousands or millions...coming from the right as "not credible". In a country where there is anywhere from 12-20 million illegals, they seriously think NONE of them have ever voted?

Look on the bright side: he's just used the term "leftist" to describe a politician most people outside of the American hard right would agree was vaguely left leaning, rather than a Democrat who's to the right of most European conservatives, and impossible to tell from a Republican politically. This could be seen as a sign of progress.

Nice try...but, no cigar. The reporter was doing a serious news story about the death of Osama and misspoke. Quickly corrected himself. Wasn't making a deliberate joke about the President dying.

LOL you are still trying to change goalposts. Idiot
it wasnt a reporter, or anchor, or guest, or commentator, or analyst, it was a producer OFF camera, who said in the same sentence, I'm kidding....
but hey, as inneffectual you are....rock on dood
