ShaharThorne -> If I had balls... (12/8/2016 3:47:43 PM)

...I swear that they would be frozen by now.

North Texas is facing temperatures in the 20s, possibly in the teens in the Panhandle.

I took pity on the poor cats and left some food out for them. They're not mine (neighbor's) but they love hanging around here because of the mice (and pasta..closet Garfields).

Thanks the Gods I have an electric blanket so my feet will stay warm.

Everyone up north of here...BE CAREFUL!!! Keep the cabinet doors under your sinks open so the heat can keep the pipes warm and have some kind of draft stopper at the bottom of your exterior doors. If your water starts dripping at a twinkle when you turn the faucet on, DO NOT use a torch to warm the pipes...you can cause more damage that way.

Make sure your pets and plants are in.

Have a hot toddy if you know how to make one.

Well I would be sympathetic, but........ [;)]

We've had snow twice already. God knows we need the water but it's early for snow cover.

Hehe, these things are so alien to me!!! You got to even save your plant from the cold by keeping it indoors with the heater! Wow! I thought plants automatically go into dormant mode in winter anyway?
Living in a country where it's a predictable 89 degrees Fahrenheit or 32 degrees Celsius every single day, 365 days a year!
Never ever have to experience these stuffs!

My poor baby brother has it worse...

His company has him working in the Gobi desert in Mongolia...in -12F weather. I am afraid his balls went back into his body.

He better have my yarn when he comes home for the holidays. Told Mom with my luck, it would probably be made out of yak hair.

its 30 fahrenheit right now here in toronto and we arent that far south*heh*
Its bloody windy tho. It gets a lot colder but I prefer the cold to the heat, I would melt and suffer badly in your temps. Im still sitting outside with the ol man every morning, keeping an eye on the squirrels and birds...

What exactly is the science requirement for public schools in your country?

Let me guess, they still teach advanced alchemy?

Look, sudden cold snaps can kill even the heartiest of plants, including trees.

But the plants that they are referring to (which you would know if you actually had two brain cells talking to each other) are house plants.

You know those botanical specimens grown specifically to make the indoor environment more aesthetically pleasing, not to mention help purify the air (photosynthesis works indoors as well as out.)

That's weird. NT is only about 35N, damn near sub-tropical.

Our public schools still top the world in science and math anyway continuously year after year, even in PISA this year, despite you wanting to question the quality of their education.

As a person who has never lived in any cold weather, will never live in cold weather by choice as I love the sun. How would this knowledge be useful to us. It's like a non-issue where I live. Since it's impossible to get cold weather where I live. And potted plants I keep all need sunlight, I always keep them outdoors. Also benefits from the natural rain water since we have alot of heavy rain all the time, all year round.

That why I said if I had them...they would of been frozen at the very least.

I got a trans friend bitching about the cold in Dallas. When I got up awhile ago from a nap (had a bad night), I got ready to go get the mail...it was 38F on the porch and a package from my niece took up half of it (42x14x20). My nips got nips...
