WhoreMods -> Greg Lake's dead as well. (12/9/2016 10:10:58 AM)

The one with the bass out of ELP.
As far as getting upstaged over dying goes, I think he's managed to trump Warren Zevon dying the same week as Johnny Cash, hasn't he?

OsideGirl -> RE: Greg Lake's dead as well. (12/9/2016 10:27:54 AM)

Can't we just sacrifice Justin Bieber and get the Gods to stop taking away talented musicians?

WhoreMods -> RE: Greg Lake's dead as well. (12/9/2016 11:48:59 AM)

Non-starter, I'm afraid.
Back when Gore Vidal, Harry Harrison and Ray Bradbury all died in the same year, I staged a black mass to invoke the angel of death in the hope that I could exchange them for an equal number of living but shit writers the world wouldn't miss.
Azrael wasn't having it. He has no intention of going anywhere near Martin Amis or Julian Barnes if he can possibly avoid it, and insisted that I'd have to offer something a lot better than that for just Harrison, never mind Vidal and Bradbury. And if he rejects Dan Brown as a sacrifice, he's not going to be interested in swapping a talentless shit like Stone Roses for anybody half decent, is he?

Ask and see what is needed to bring Anne McCaffrey back...I mean Todd is pretty good but his mother IS the Dragonlady...

Still...FUCK YOU 2016!!!!

Apparently Kirk Douglas is due to celebrate his 100th birthday on Friday. Given what 2016 has done to us so far, I shall be keeping all possible fingers crossed.

Mr. Douglas celebrate his birthday with 150 of family and friends with a lovely tea.

I thought it was next week. Good for Kirk - whew!

"I'm a hundred!"
"No I'm a hundred!"
"No, I'm a hundred!"
"No, I'm a hundred!"

Good old Kirk.

Altogether now:

"Der der dah

He played all the guitars, too. Any kid aspiring to guitar fell over him/herself and thanked the music gods, etc. if/when finally getting through From the Beginning accurately.

But these 'icons' weren't going to live forever, folks. Nature is nature.

Most of us here will live to witness the passing of McCartney, Dylan, Townshend, Jaggar, Richards, Ringo, etc.

The latter will bring genuine tears from the greatest number of people who know anything about him, count on it.

Um, Richards died years ago, he is now undead.

I meant to say Richard, as in Keith Richard.

Pardon my misstep, your instantaneous screaming to such however unintended indiscretion being on point, as always.

WhoreMods -> RE: Greg Lake's dead as well. (12/17/2016 4:37:43 AM)

That joke was pretty obviously about Keith Richard: it's one that's been doing the rounds for twenty or thirty years now, in fact.

Yeah, I missed that.

I'm sure that's what Dizzy's comment was adhering to.

I miss out on all the fun.

Hate to be pedantic, but its Richards, as in Keith Richards. (with an "s"), and he's a spring chicken at a mere 73!

The singular Richard is Cliff, he's 76, but looks only 50.... will probably outlive us all....

That's weird.

I did a search and came up with 'Richard', but then another just now which proves you right.

I suppose we'll just have to rely on dizzy girl to give her explanation for the 'correction,' then.

Thanks for clearing it up, though. Been so long since I paid attention to that group I was caught off guard.

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: Greg Lake's dead as well. (12/18/2016 5:56:37 AM)

What correction?

WhoreMods -> RE: Greg Lake's dead as well. (12/18/2016 8:17:30 AM)

Maybe he's hoping you'll correct him with physical discipline?
