A friend of mine was in an accident last summer. 2 blocks from home, someone changed lanes into her and sent her into the median.

The guy pulled over, looked at her laying on the ground, got back in his car and took off. Luckily, she was riding with other people.

She ended up with multiple injuries (she was wearing a half helmet) including a broken wrist that required surgery.

The cops did an investigation and took pictures. When the police were going over the photos with her and her witnesses, they noticed that the guy that hit her was sitting on the side of the road watching the police as they took pictures.

They got his license plate and he's been charged with crimes and her insurance company is suing him. His defense is....that she had the accident because the bike was too big for her.

Well of course he wasn't going to say that his car was too small to deal with her bike. Just like his ... was too small to deal with the situation.

Oh fuck that.

People should ride something THEY can handle well. If you cannot do a basic 8 maneuver at low speeds in a parking lot without putting your foot down, you're sitting on too much bike, regardless of your gender.

And I know faaaaaaaaaar more dudes who cannot really handle their bikes well enough to do their maneuvers with them than I know girls who cannot do the same.

You don't need a lot of weight, or a big frame, to handle a big engine. What you need is the skill to actually handle the increased weight of the bike, and it subsequent decrease in maneuverability. Being heavier yourself doesn't give you those things, all it might be able to do is help you fake them as long as you're going straight.

FYI, I only say that to rattle her cage, a playful jab at a very good biker, who happens to be a tiny little thing.

Hill, we know you, you are basically requesting 2 inches of material and dental floss.

Is that a bad thing?

If she wants, she can include the bike in the pic as well.[8D]
