Lucylastic -> Trump tries to calm his ‘vicious, violent, screaming’ supporters (12/17/2016 1:30:43 AM)

ORLANDO – It has been 39 days since Donald Trump has had to worry about Hillary Clinton, but his supporters can’t seem to stop talking about her.

Even before Trump took the stage at a boisterous Friday evening rally here, the president-elect’s introductory speakers referenced his former Democratic opponent – and the crowd of thousands, perfectly on cue, chanted, “Lock her up!” One man screamed loudly, “Waterboard her!”

When Trump delivered his speech in Orlando, his latest stop on a national “thank you” tour, his throngs of fans repeated their chants: “Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!”

If the president-elect loved hearing their plea, he did not say so. Rather, he sought to calm his unruly army of passionate followers.

In the run-up to the election, Trump told them, “you people were vicious, violent, screaming, ‘Where’s the wall?’ ‘We want the wall!’ Screaming, ‘Prison!’ ‘Prison!’ ‘Lock her up!’ I mean, you were going crazy. You were nasty and mean and vicious. And you wanted to win, right?”

But the campaign is now over. Victory is in hand. The inauguration is a month away. And Trump, preparing to govern a divided nation, tried to imagine for his fans how they ought to behave. “It’s much different,” he said. “Now you’re laid back, you’re cool, you’re mellow, right? You’re basking in the glory of victory.”

Trump rallied Floridians at an Orlando amphitheater on a crisp evening, flanked by 16 decorated Christmas trees against a giant painted canvas of a winter wonderland. The first words he uttered after a hearty introduction by Vice President-elect Mike Pence: “Merry Christmas, everyone.”
Trump made no reference to Russia’s alleged meddling in the campaign or respond to President Obama’s comments on the matter at a news conference earlier Friday.

Instead, Trump spent much of his 50-minute speech reliving what he called a magical election night in which he defied the pundits. He ticked through the battleground states that he turned red – North Carolina (“our firewall”), Pennsylvania (“always the bride that got away”) and Florida (“Did I blow them out of the Panhandle or what?”). And he mocked CNN’s John King and other television anchors for “dishonest” exit polling and for predicting that he did not have a credible path to 270 electoral votes.

Trump also rolled off key promises of his agenda – to end illegal immigration, defeat Islamic State terrorists, repeal Obama’s Affordable Care Act, renegotiate trade deals and rejuvenate the domestic economy.

“The script is not yet written,” Trump said of his coming presidency. “We do not know what the page will read tomorrow… but what we do know is that the page will be authored by each and every one of you. You, the incredible American people, will be in charge.”

then theres this from a fox station....

ORLANDO, Florida (CNN) — President-elect Donald Trump said Friday his supporters were “violent” during the 2016 campaign.

Trump made the admission Friday night during a rally here on the Florida leg of his “Thank You” tour. During the campaign, he repeatedly downplayed violent outbursts his supporters displayed at times toward protesters and insisted that paid activists were instead responsible for inciting violence at his rallies.

“You people were vicious, violent, screaming, ‘Where’s the wall? We want the wall!’ Screaming, ‘Prison! Prison! Lock her up!’ I mean you are going crazy. I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?” Trump said Friday. “But now, you’re mellow and you’re cool and you’re not nearly as vicious or violent, right? Because we won, right?”

During the campaign, Trump repeatedly referred to his rallies as the “safest place on Earth” and called them a “love fest.”

Meanwhile, some Trump supporters occasionally physically assaulted protesters at rallies across the country during the 2016 campaign. In several instances, Trump supporters were also assaulted by protesters after exiting Trump rallies.

Several Trump supporters were charged with assault after attacking protesters at different rallies.

And while Trump suggested that his supporters had mellowed out in their rhetoric as well — “now you’re laid back, you’re cool, you’re mellow, you’re basking in the glory of victory,” he said Friday — the crowd broke out in “Lock her up!” chants twice.

One Trump supporter who obtained a media pass from the Trump transition office shouted from the press pen that Trump’s former opponent Hillary Clinton should be waterboarded.

And a Trump supporter threw an empty water bottle at a reporter following the rally, calling the reporter “trash.”

That incident came after the President-elect repeatedly called reporters “very dishonest” and suggested without evidence that the media distorted exit polls on Election Day.

this will be spun into hes a good guy for calling out the violence of his base:) ahem

this is probably the truest statement he has made ...
quote:

“You people were vicious, violent, screaming, ‘Where’s the wall? We want the wall!’ Screaming, ‘Prison! Prison! Lock her up!’ I mean you are going crazy. I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?” Trump said Friday.

Its obvious his next sentence is not true in any other reality but his and his base
quote:

“But now, you’re mellow and you’re cool and you’re not nearly as vicious or violent, right? Because we won, right?”

Maybe he should take some of those security briefings he is too smart for.

I wonder how long it make take the trumpies to realise that goldilocks told them simply lies galore.

I am sure they 'll blame the left for it though.

That'll be news to the Trumptooner who was ejected from one for being a negro in public.

i personally do not like Donald trump and I did not vote for him but the pitiful collective leftist whining and grasping at straws all around the country and on these forums is doing a pretty good job of making him lots more palatable.

meantime:

"Ten Rebuttals to the Left’s Meltdown Over Trump-Pence"

quote:

A month after the left’s meltdown over the Trump-Pence victory, it doesn’t seem to slow down. For example, the Drudge Report declared (12/4/16) “Madonna still can’t cope…‘Ashamed to be American’…” Protests on inauguration day may generate more fireworks on the 20th of January than on the 4th of July.

But here are ten reasons I’m glad Trump-Pence won. Not only was Hillary repudiated, but so also was Obama’s record, which she promised to continue.

1) The mainstream media was shown to be wrong...

2) Political correctness took a drubbing...

3) Islamic Jihad was identified as the problem it truly is...

4) The Christians in the Middle East have a better chance of survival and justice...

5) Religious freedom in America has greater chances of a revival...

6) It’s the economy, stupid...

7) We can hopefully repeal Obamacare...

8) The poor will suffer less.

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln: It’s a good thing the left loves the poor---they’ve made so many of them. The left often invokes the name of the poor. They claim to do so much of what they do to help the poor. But it appears they just want their votes. Leftist policies to help the poor have been routinely shown to fail the poor because they worsen the families of the poor. And the family, by God’s design, has been repeatedly been shown to be the key to upward mobility.

9) Abortion has a greater chance of being curtailed in America...

10) We can hope for a Supreme Court that will actually follow the Constitution.

The final reason I’m grateful that Trump-Pence prevailed is because of the promise that future justices chosen for the Supreme Court would be in the mode of Antonin Scalia, meaning that “we the people” would get to rule more of ourselves, rather than becoming merely the serfs of our “robed masters” who invent new rights and ignore the Constitution.

Sorry, but let Madonna and the others weep. I won’t gloat [its getting more difficult to do that too given all the whining], but I am thankful that the American people rose up and said enough is enough of the Obama/Clinton agenda.

How do you decide which talking point to use on a given day. He is either this massively awesome conservative type who causes you to wet your knickers and cower in corners because he is so fundamentally everything that the alt left is not, or he isn't conservative at all and conservatives will all be sadly disappointed. One day he is Hitler / the Devil who is going to bring back slavery, today he is Goldilocks.

Is it a Monday / Wednesday / Thursday thing, is it odd days / even days... ?

I 'd consider neither his nor your personality worth any deeper investigation.

Just logorrhoea.
