I used to be proud of this country all in all.

Now it's just an embarrassment.

A harsh humbling.

Yeah. It makes me sad. I don't want to be embarrassed, I love my country and though I have traveled around the world and there are places that I still want to go to or revisit, I truly have no desire to live any where but here. However, there are people, on both sides of the spectrum, right and left, conservative and liberal, R and D, who are irrational, arrogant, and unreasonable, and unfortunately are also louder than everyone else so they are the ones that get heard over the rest of us.

I wonder if there were other times, during my lifetime, that there was as much divisiveness in the country as there is now, and I was just oblivious to it, or is this truly the worst it has been in my time.

Maybe you two could try sneaking into Mexico? Now, THERES a country to be proud of. And I am sure they treat illegals like KINGS there!

No, we're not the cut and run type, believing one thing one day, another thing another day, just because the political wind and the talking points changed.

I know you won't understand that.

Donald Trump hates his satirical portrayal on Saturday Night Live. Unfortunately for him, the rest of the world is making the same jokes.

https://www.facebook.com/qznews/videos/362321474147263/

Much worse, actually. Baldwin is tame by comparison.

Funny....I'm thinking the world has found our Presidents rather humorous for decades....

Ford.....tripping/falling......Reagan..."we'll.....there ya go again"....Bush Sr...."not gunna".....Clinton....."a nasty stain lying there"....Obama.....pretty much everything.....

(It's called American humor).

The right is shitting their pants and felchgobbling up some horrid breath, they never have thought clearly, and they know that they will be seen as an embarrassment and buffoons of the world.

I think this is the interesting distinction. My best friend, who is Californian American, is obviously left leaning, and he was pro-Hillary all the way. I remembered when the grab pussy incident happened. He got abit angry with me, saying that, America will be sooo embarrassed to have Trump as President, that guy has no social skills.

And it's just so interesting like that is the gist of it. They want someone who can conduct themselves professionally and eloquently.

I agree that Trump will never be THAT. He will always raise eyebrows.

There will always be cultures that different cultures find terrible. It doesn't matter. Because we are all different. And we don't have to like and agree with those differences.

My gf who came back from the New York branch of her new company who's headquarters is in New York, expressed complete shock at their culture. Saying that New Yorkers are so loud and in your face and confrontational people, they have no respect for anybody. But they are also the hardest workers, and work crazy long hours. But zero sense of diplomacy at all! Sounds like Trump lol. Trump also works very hard, workaholic all the way.

But to an Asian, respect is about always giving people face, which means, pulling them aside and discuss with them privately about any disagreement. Not like openly infront of everybody loudly confront. It would clearly signal your low disregard and respect for this person if you did that. Something some bosses would do to lower level employees to tell them they are beneath him.

Cultural differences. And that's what makes everything colourful. I don't think Americans should feel embarrassed. Every country got their share of interesting leaders with their own quirks at some point of time.

And Americans themselves are soo diversed. People on the East Coast will say California is not representative of America ha. For example.

No, you have a bunch of silly stereotypes in your head.

Why "obviously left-leaning" Californians? Ronald Reagan was Californian. And governor.

Nor are New Yorkers any more rude than anyone anywhere else (have you SEEN the abysmal level of discourse in this nation?). In fact, New Yorkers are helpful and cooperate to help a city of 8.4 million people basically run smoothly on primarily foot traffic aided by subways and taxi.

So why don't you see this as a problem?

Actually, she's less off than are you. You'll notice she quoted a person that worked in NY and experienced the situation for that description. Which would not be a stereotype. Reagan was elected president nearly 40 years ago and died a dozen years ago. California is now the People's Republic of California. A place where Govenor Moonbeam can always get elected and both houses of government are firmly in control of progressives. You might note, further, that if you took California out of the election count, Trump would have handily won both the electoral college and the popular vote. For years the California politics has been driving large companies, as well as other producing people, out of the state with the nation's highest taxes while the infrastructure is crumbling.

Greta was spot on in her projection of CA. You, meh, not so much.

I was going to comment on the article, but I found it so vapid I decided, "what's the use?" Every sentence that says Trump can be substituted with Hillary and her deplorables, or those "other" rich white guys (who funded her $1.2 billion dollar campaign) or "We came, we saw, he died" or a couple of hundred million dollars in the bank just a few years after leaving the White House with the White House furniture.

This is just silly. I'm sorry people even think like this.

I watch very little tv now, haven't for years. If I do start following a show, it's because I caught an episode somewhere, liked it, and start watching it but it's easy to keep up with because by then is already several seasons in and I can binge watch reruns on TNT.

I haven't made a point of catching a current show on TV in years, and can't remember how long it has been since I watched SNL. But you can bet that this election season my son and I both make a point to catch it, specifically for the political skits. If I forget, my son is reminding me. It's become a great incentive for him to follow the news on his own, so that he can beat me predicting what they will feature that week. He's becoming quite the little historian because if it.

Mocking everybody in the entire world back:

10. After Donald Trump’s underdog victory, many in the media looked for scapegoats. But Comedy Central’s Samantha Bee went the furthest — blaming white people for “ruining” America.

9. Hillary notoriously avoided direct questions from the press all year. So when Lester Holt became one of the few to somehow score a sit down with Mrs. Clinton, his softballs-only interview was journalistically humiliating.

8. Cuba’s long time dictator expired this year, and many in America’s media … mourned.

7. Perhaps not historically significant, but a particularly comical case of media malpractice came when an enchanted Andrea Mitchell breathlessly recapped the “magical” evening she was having at a Hillary rally.

6. Over on PBS, David Brooks and David Corn somehow connected the dots between Ted Cruz and Satan.

5. After the devastating mass slaughter in Orlando, the media embraced its unfortunate habit of speculating where things went wrong — looking everywhere, it seemed, besides Islamic terrorism.

4. After another tragedy — this time an alligator snatching a toddler from a Disney World beachfront — CNN’s Brooke Baldwin thankfully had the presence of mind to ask a local animal expert … what the alligator was thinking.

3. On MSNBC, the now-canceled Melissa Harris Perry worried that Flint, Mich., might become Obama’s … Fugitive Slave Act?

2. After Orlando, many progressive congressmen staged a sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives. The media, you be unsurprised to discover, went absolutely bananas with delight.

1. If there was one thing the media was absolutely sure of in 2016, it was … Hillary Clinton’s inevitable landslide victory. Whoops.

(Video montage at the link above)

'SNL' mocks Trump, Putin and ties with Exxon CEO

In the first sketch of the show, Baldwin as Donald Trump gets a surprise holiday visitor who enters through the chimney. It turns out to be a shirtless Russian President Vladimir Putin who is carrying a sack full of presents.
