Whereas Russia is actually wanting to put down ISIS. I know, right? I mean, someone please explain that one!? Explanation: ISIS conquered their American weaponry when defeating the US supplied Iraqi army at their conquest of Mosul and other northern Iraqi districts. Russia is wanting to destroy any anti Assad forces. Since IS in Syria - at the moment - is no big threat to the major cities like Damascus or the coastal areas but keeps to the central north and north-east destroying IS is not top of the list for Putin. Maybe this will change. Right now Putin and Assad have other priorities. The US was also arming anti-Assad rebel groups, but not the ones who had already sided with ISIS. Some, though, have joined in with ISIS since being armed. But, what right do we have to arm anti-Assad rebels anyway?
