In the US light trucks are pick up trucks and SUV's, not commercial transportation vehicles.

Exactly.
We don't count them in the same sales figures as 'cars' like the US/Russia/Brazil do.

Still doesn't answer the question of why they should be discounted. They are passenger vehicles designed for personal use. Same as cars. My SUV serves the same exact purpose as any other car. It requires no special skills, license, etc. that a sedan does not also require. It is an automobile. Period.

And, as usual, you're missing the label... again.

Yes, they are ALL automobiles. Nobody is arguing that fact.
But, and here's the kicker, things like SUV's, pickup trucks etc are NOT counted in the same category as 'cars' in the sales figures everywhere else but the US, Russia and Brazil do.

I don't know why, they just have separate categories for standard compacts and sedans and they put light trucks somewhere else in the figures.
Don't argue with me - take it up with the VDA who collates the numbers.

All I know is, the figures are skewed because those for US/Russia/Brazil include many vehicles that aren't included in the figures for everywhere else.
So it's comparing apples to oranges and not a fair set of figures.

Actually, they shouldn't be compared at all. From what I gather, the figures indicating largest world exporters is based on dollar value worth of cars exported, while the link you gave is based on vehicle registration recorded in each country that year. Those are two entirely different things.

But it still shows that sales figures, whether it's exports or registrations, are counted differently in US/Russia and Brazil than anywhere else.

And that's my point.
The figures include/exclude different groups/categories of vehicle.
So your $ worth of exports will include the likes of light trucks because they are counted as 'cars'.
The figures for elsewhere don't because SUV's and pickups aren't counted as 'cars'.
So the export figures, and the registration figures, are skewed because of the way they categorise the vehicles.

What is being counted in your link isn't even the same thing that is being counted in the other link, so you don't know who includes what. Different organizations counting different things for different purposes. So you can't use the criteria for one to judge the other.

The original link is titled: Below are the 15 countries that exported the highest dollar value worth of cars in 2015

The definition of 'cars' is different for the US/Russia/Brazil than it is for elsewhere.
That's why the figures are skewed.
It is irrelevant if they are counting cars for exports or cars for registration.
The bottom line is... they are counting what they consider as 'cars' - not a generic 'vehicles' but specifically 'cars'.
It is the definition of what is being counted that is different for the figures.
And that's the inherent problem with the figures.

No, but nevermind, I'm not arguing with you anymore.

Our soon-to-be president has no idea at all how to deal with the job situation by way of education, like a smart country would. No, he's just going to kick and scream and bluster that "you are going to take more of our exports and we are going to take less of your exports because I say so."

You are a moron.

This is why people laugh at you instead of considering your points seriously.

Yeah I can tell you don't take me seriously by all the attention you pay me

There, I was just holding a mirror up to you fools, and you totally nailed the look

Good. Then figure out something to say about the topic instead of the poster.

If you can.
