Donald Trump to Have First Major Test on Russia Through Planned U.S. Military Deployment Donald Trump's actual intentions toward Russia, and whether he prioritizes improving ties with Moscow over supporting America's traditional interests, will become apparent shortly after he takes office in January, when he'll decide how to follow through on his predecessor's promise for military force. A battalion of U.S. forces, roughly 1,000 troops, is scheduled to deploy to Poland early in 2017 as a part of the European Reassurance Initiative, a broad plan the Obama administration developed to deter Russia. Nuclear expansion and upgrade for both the US and Russia is front page news today. Given that the world's current nuclear regime cannot be used, why do we or anybody need this ? Russia: Putin to further consolidate power for him, the Kremlin and Russian military. US: the same and of course a very nice, VERY nice Christmas present for the Mil. Indust. Comp. If there ever was a truly unique, ever increasing and prolifically joyful profit center for the capitalist, it is war, the threat of war and the supply of [its] necessary (and unnecessary) munitions. This is particularly that which requires billion$ to develop, build and maintain and...never be used. Merry Christmas taxpayers. Or rather...thanks for the very merry Christmas for the military investor classes...taxpayers, you and your children, your grand children, their children and now...their children too. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving.
