Is the Syrian peace plan just more Russians Shenanigans?

Even I don’t understand all the mad factions killing, raping, torturing In the name of their gods

But I thought it Strange Turkey, Lemon Chicken would sit at the table of Emperor Penguin Putin without those “Lame Duck” Americans – who are to busy playing golf or trying to find out whether A Trumpicano Express is a real thing and where can they get a shovel full.

The UN Security Council has unanimously endorsed a ceasefire deal in Syria led by Turkey and Russia, as well as plans for fresh peace talks next month.

The resolution, drafted by Russia, also calls for rapid access for humanitarian aid to be delivered across the country.

The ceasefire, which began just over a day ago, has mostly held.

But Syria's main rebel alliance had threatened to abandon the truce by 18:00 GMT if the government continued to attack areas under its control.

The Free Syrian Army (FSA) issued the ultimatum to Russia - Syria's key ally - amid reports of intense bombardment by government forces on the rebel-held Wadi Barada area of Damascus, which the rebels say is in breach of the truce.

Shelling on the area concerned ceased just minutes before the deadline, the group's legal adviser, Osama Abu Zeid, said.

The truce applies across Syria but does not cover certain rebel groups including the jihadists of so-called Islamic State (IS) and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (JFS), and the Kurdish YPG militia.

Russia is skint and needs those lovely American dollars. Its sphere of influence wanes, cash streams and revenues..you get the gist.
Do I like Putin - I admire him for holding the remnants of Russia together as that could easily devolve into millennia olde conflicts.
It was not that long ago there was mass genocide/war in Europe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_Wars so things can take a turn for the worst relatively quickly.

His popularity is down to strength. I thought what they did in the American Election systems was cheeky and yet appalling. And no point discussing who blew which planes from the heavens etc and who prop up who with money arms etc

As for those places steeped in deepest antiquity there will never be peace. I wish there was. Even recently here the Catholics and Protestants were murdering each other for a variety of reasons. Some of that hatred and vitriol does still exist. And it exists for hatreds sake and nowt else as they are unaware of history and the hows and whys and when it is time to let stuff be bygone

The cynic in me thinks Turkey got down at that table as Russia sanctioned them.

Well, quite. It's always the lefties and liberals on here who are complaining about gay marriage, making excuses for gay bashing, bleating that any priveleges extended to gays by the law are unearned favouritism arising from PC gone mad, and insisting that transsexuals shouldn't be allowed to use womens' lavatories, isn't it?
