WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says there's an "obvious" reason the Obama administration has focused on Russia's alleged role in Democratic hacks leading up to Donald Trump's electoral win.

“They’re trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House,” Assange said during an interview with Fox News's Sean Hannity airing Tuesday night, according to a transcript of excerpts from the network.

“They are trying to say that President-elect Trump is not a legitimate president," Assange said during the interview, which was conducted at the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he has been staying.

"Our publications had wide uptake by the American people, they’re all true,” Assange continued. “But that’s not the allegation that’s being presented by the Obama White House.”

Assange reiterated the group's denial that Russia was the source of the Democratic documents released over the summer.

“Our source is not a state party, so the answer for our interactions is no,” he said.

Trump is doing a fine job of ‘delegitimizing' himself.

For starters, he could learn the difference between a president and a president-elect.

And, if he doesn't want the president to attack him, he might consider not attacking the president.

Most people learn this stuff in grade school. Not all, apparently.

WhoreMods -> RE: Assange: Obama admin trying to ‘delegitimize' Trump (1/3/2017 7:43:59 AM)

It's not just me finding the Trumptooners whining about Obama picking on their boy after the short fingered vulgarian spent most of his election campaign reviving the Birther nonsense a bit feeble, then?

I particularly love the effort that's being put into dismissing concerns about a foreign influence on the American electoral process as mere sour grapes or an attempt by corrupt elitists to dismiss some* of the popular vote.

*(not a majority, but some of it, at least)

I really have to wonder just how long Assange has been working for Putin.

Cited proof that he is?

It's a curiosity that the main concern of the media and the left is NOT what was revealed by those emails...but rather, the unproven belief that it was Russia that provided the material.

Current leadership, both national leadership and DNC leadership, as well as the media "watchdogs" only care that their rotten behavior was found out

WhoreMods -> RE: Assange: Obama admin trying to ‘delegitimize' Trump (1/3/2017 10:58:54 AM)

Quite unlike the Republicans then, who feel that their rotten behaviour and shitty leadership is something to brag about.

I am more disturbed by the fact that when it was only national security at risk it was a ridiculous idea that could never happen but the moment they decided it was a good excuse for Hillary losing it became, not only a sure thing, but the most important thing in the world.

So the issues with Russia aren't just sour grapes, they should be looked into, then?

Is anyone saying that what was revealed in the Wikileaks emails is inconsequential? My understanding is that there is currently an investigation into Clinton and the emails, so no has closed the door on what will come of the Wikileaks revelations.

What concerns me is that the President-elect refuses to consider the importance of the allegations of Russian hacking. Allegations made by his own intelligence communities. He dismisses reports from his own country's intelligence organizations, has yet to meet with them to get an intelligence briefing (supposedly he has 'agreed' to meet with them sometime this week) on the subject, yet says he has his own sources and knows more than they do.

Even leaders from his own party demand investigations into this. Yet he knows more than they do.

The only other people who are denying the Russian hacking allegations are the Russians. So I have to ask myself, who are Trumps sources?

I have always had a great respect for the office of the President, and when Trump won the office, I wanted him to prove me wrong about everything I had always thought about him. I wanted him to surprise me.

But when a President-elect goes on Twitter and praises the Russian leader, and calls American citizens who didn't vote for him his 'enemies', I have a hard time feeling like he is my President.

The bright spot is that people seem to be catching on to this sort of thing, as evidenced by (say it with me now) PRESIDENT ELECT TRUMP

If we ended up in WWIII with China, would you rather have Putin on our side or theirs?

How about we don't end up there? Things like that can be avoided when you don't pick fights with other countries on Twitter. Hell, he all but dared North Korea to nuke us today.

Don't be ridiculous. Look at what he wrote, it wasn't deemed important until they realized they could use it

Ergo, there is likely nothing of substance there. Obama's hysterics are purely for political reasons

We should have dealt with North Korea a while ago. Personally i really hope he does. And China is just going to keep becoming increasingly powerful if something isn't done soon to keep them in check. That's reality.
