Musicmystery -> Already talking about 2020 Re-election campaign (1/9/2017 9:58:56 AM)

Clearly, politics never rests. The president-elect hasn't taken office yet, and the handicapping on re-election in 2020 has already started:

North Korean Nukes Seen Hurting Trump Re-Election Prospects

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-01-08/north-korean-nukes-may-hurt-trump-re-election-chances-says-hill

North Korea will probably claim with credibility within four years that it can hit the U.S. with a nuclear weapon, a potential time bomb for Donald Trump’s re-election prospects, according to Christopher Hill, a former senior U.S. diplomat who led talks with the reclusive regime.

The chance of multi-country negotiations resuming soon with North Korea is “pretty much nil,” Hill said on Saturday in an interview in Singapore. The former assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, who was ambassador to South Korea from 2004-2005, said Kim Jong Un was likely to keep improving his arsenal and the options for countering him were limited.

“Contrary to what many people have said, they are not testing the new administration, they are testing weapons of war,” Hill said. “And sooner or later, but certainly within the next four years, within the first mandate of Trump, they will announce with credibility that they have a deliverable nuclear weapon.”

“The problem for Trump is that would be an enormous difficulty for him in 2020 elections,” said Hill, now dean of the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. “Trump is not going to want to have to face the electorate having allowed North Korea to have a nuclear weapon targeted at the United States.”

I'll just say this: Notice that it's Bloomberg that's mentioning re-election. So, your thread title is kind of predicated on the fact that a left-leaning publication is talking re-election, already.

Gee. I wonder why that might be?

Perhaps because they're not expecting the orange gobshite with bad hair not to last a full term before he's impeached or something, whereas the right-leaning are in denial that one of theirs could ever be chased out of office or otherwise removed?

Musicmystery -> RE: Already talking about 2020 Re-election campaign (1/9/2017 10:48:35 AM)

I'm actually not sure who originated the story -- it's in several places. It came across my ipad news feed yesterday and I Googled the link for the forum. It could be Bloomberg.

But does it matter? Or left/right for that matter? We're already discussing not simply 2020, but Trump's re-election.

He's not even President yet.

Greta75 -> RE: Already talking about 2020 Re-election campaign (1/9/2017 11:06:03 AM)

lol, that's okay. Lets all remember this is the same media that predicted Trump loss in this election too.
I don't know why anybody would care what their predictions are now. Infact, they been so inaccurate, if they say Trump is gonna lose, I know Trump is gonna win.

It's my bet that well before 2020 even the idiots that voted for Trump will see just how stupid they were and will be more than ready to "make America great" by getting rid of the asshat.

How did that work out for you

Does anyone actually think that the roecount or the EC farce was about this year? All of that garbage was about hurting Trump in 2020. The left has not only started thinking about 2020, but they have started the campaign.

The question is have the idiots who voted for Hillary learned anything or will they put up another vile promoter of state control.

I predict that North Korea will no longer pose any potential threat to anyone by 2020.

1) And you think the right has not?

2) Do you really think everything is left or right?

Who is stupid enough to ignore the huge advances they have made in the last 8 years. Only a fool would think they coul go from zero to fully operative in 4 years.

No, I'm sure Trump will take full credit for the economic recovery.
