It's not Republicans or Democrats that are hypocrites.
It's politicians

Did the Democrats do this to Bush?

It seems to me that they're only doing this because the GOP openly declared war on the political system under Obama, and when you openly declare war like that, you can usually expect some sort of retaliation.

And seriously, it's Donald fucking Trump... the most unpopular candidate of all time, the least experienced president of all time, and the closest the US has ever come to fascism. He doesn't deserve anyone's respect or support... and just because the voters are too stupid to know what he is doesn't mean everyone else should pretend he's a respectable politician.

Musicmystery -> RE: More republican hypocrisy (1/11/2017 1:38:29 PM)

Whatever happened to show respect before you get respect?

Welcome to the world of relativism that the left has been so ardently fighting for.

No, welcome to the world of illiteracy that you embrace.

Yes, they tried to impeach him, they constantly called him shrub, long after it was disproven they insisted that he was constantly awol for months as a time, they consistently claimed he was an alcoholic and many of them still want us to believe that he was behind 9/11

This did not, by any means start with Obama.

It actually started in 1992 when Newt Grinch introduced no-compromise gridlock politics.

Gosh, how terrible.
Nothing more terrible and demeaning has ever been said about a President before or since.

Unfortunately, "Well what about those guys" isn't a denial of hypocrisy.

What would be hilarious if it wasn't so truly tragic is that when the press reported on Reagan, we get investigations and found corruption resulting in 13 political pardons.

When the press reported on the Bill Clinton, we got investigations and $60 million later...they found nothing but to intimidate an intern. Then we get a civil suit (breaking all precedent) funded by the right and we get a huge settlement.

When the press reports on Bush and Chaney, the opposition becomes traitors and are insufficiently patriotic. Then the press reports on the outing of a CIA field agent NOW so near and dear to why suddenly Snowden is a traitor but was just OK for the repubs, so they hang Libby out to swing.

Then when the press reports on Obama, Obama is a Muslim out to side with Islam and not even born here or a Christian and also corrupt and we get what was it 11 or 13 congressional investigations on Hillary who is also corrupt.

Then the press reports on emails of dem insiders and the Clinton foundation...the Clintons and dems are all corrupt.

BUT NOW the press reports on Trump... not to mention 17 govt. agencies also reporting, now it' them and it's the PRESS that's corrupt and all fake news.

Talk about repub hypocrisy. They give new meaning to the word.

Musicmystery -> RE: More republican hypocrisy (1/12/2017 11:15:17 AM)

Yeah.

It's going to get worse.

McConnell alone is a weather vane, unafraid to look ridiculous.

Very true, but I do find it funny that calling George II shrub is the worst that BamaD can pick out.
Looks a bit pallid next to a lot of what he's said about Obama on here himself, doesn't it?

You are a moron, it probably started in Babylon or some shit.

Do you think the Democrats were happy when Lincoln freed their slaves

And we used to care about the character of our candidates.

Whereas now, of course, we only care about the character of their candidates.
The main problem with the fact that the last five or six election cycles have concentrated more on dropping the bar of what's considered acceptable in political discourse, is that this is a one way process. Once it's dropped, it's impossible to put it back up to where it was. For some reason the Trumptooners are incapable of getting their heads around this fairly simple concept, and instead are getting all pouty because after supporting their candidate while he ran a campaign on bigotry, lies and bile, they find it offensive that the other side are now treating him the same way. They honestly seem to believe that after he was appointed by the electoral college all of this stuff should stop, and a reset button should be pushed that'll erase all of the precedents that have been set for personality politics since Clinton was elected, and things will go back to the way they were.
This is a ridiculous exercise in demanding to both have one's cake and eat it, but I suppose constant whining about hypocrisy and "they did it first!" is a lot easier for the rightards in here to manage than discussing the issues with the president elect's policies, conflicts of interest, cabinet picks, ties to foreign governments, or anything else.

No, they are hypocrites for not playing by the rules they tried to force democrats to play under.
So if your team opposed the 3 point shot in basketball or the 2 point conversion in footbal and they pass anyway, you are a hypocrite if you follow they new rules. So anything that is proposed you either have to support it or play the game by a diiferent set of rules than the competition ?

If your coach is opposed to 3 pointers, and the coach calls a play for one to be taken, then, yes, that coach is a hypocrite.

That being said, this isn't something as innocuous as a scoring play in basketball, now is it?

That is just not true.

    quote:

60 per cent of likely voters view Ms Clinton negatively, according to the survey by ABC News and the Washington Post. Meanwhile Mr Trump is disliked by 58 per cent of the electorate.
The negativity runs deep: 49 per cent of respondents said they see Ms Clinton "strongly" unfavourably, and 48 per cent said the same about Mr Trump.

He's the 2nd most unpopular candidate. [:D]
