This is probably the most horrifying thing that has ever happened in American politics-- worse than Nixon, worse than Harding.
And the shitbag hasn't even taken office yet.
It's probably a good thing this is happening before he takes office, but holy fuck... what happens now???

This may well end up being fake news, HB. It may well end up as being completely true.

How about we wait to string him up a pole over this once it's verified as true? That's what happens now. We should not damn a person in the court of public opinion. And, don't forget, in the US, it's usually 'innocent until proven guilty.'

Nope, but it does make special pleading that one side or the other deserves more respect than the other bunch seem a bit feeble, imo. You can't get up in front of the whole world and behave like a fascist child without it making people very very afraid, and you can't turn things around without dramatically changing your behavior... and Trump REFUSES to change.

NO ONE with a shred of decency is going to get behind someone like that. If unity was such a big concern, the GOP would have dumped Trump before the election-- it's not like everyone didn't know what he was. There was never any chance whatsoever that he would ever bring people together-- NONE. He campaigned on hatred, fear and division, and that is what he has brought to America and the rest of the world as well.

It's only going to get worse.

There is no stuffing this genie back into the bottle. The left thought they won something when they demonized Bush and they have just been doubling down ever since with the rottenest, most vile garbage they can dig up. That's from the top to the bottom, too. Obama and Hillary, Reid and Pelosi, Schumer... They are little better than Whoremods in their approach to politics. Playing nice to these people doesn't work, it was frustrating to me, that W never defended himself or the office. That's why I like Trump, he fights back. Smashmouth is what they want, smashmouth is what they are going to get because the new generation of Republicans will not continue to roll over and keep extending olive branches only to lose hands.

Trump is far from the perfect candidate but he carries a message, we don't have to be PC and we don't have to be liked, we just have to conduct the business that the voters keep screaming that they want done and we can keep winning elections, which that is quite a break from the past.

Since you seem to not know the difference, this is an Internet forum, not a news organization. That's why 75% of this thread is just this stupid argument. If I was a journalist, then yeah, maybe I would need to hold myself to a higher standard... but I'm fairly sure that most people know the difference. I guess you're special.

But despite all of this 'innocent until proven guilty' stuff, the reputation of the source combined with the nature of the allegations and what we know of Trump... everything just fits so well with what has been happening that I feel pretty safe saying it's true, and hopefully the investigation will be able to prove it before Trump gets a chance to do a lot of damage. Whether he is killed by the Russian mafia, impeached by his fellow GOPers, or simply has a heart attack from all the stress-- all of it probably beats the alternative. Maybe there will be some conspiracy bullshit but as long as it happens in a way that most people can accept, it will be a monumental relief.

And I would hardly call expressing my opinion unprincipled compared to the act of defending or supporting Trump in any way.

It is notable that after President Trump slammed CNN as a fake news organization today, the rest of the press pool applauded him for that statement
