Musicmystery -> The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 7:14:15 AM)

The federal deficit will rise this fiscal year for the first time since 2009.

The bigger deficit will push the national debt to 77 percent of gross domestic product, the highest level since 1950, this year.

Alt left trash have just now discovered the national debt...

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 7:52:13 AM)

1) Actually, the alt-left had nothing to do with it. Learn what it is.

2) The GOP has been controlling Congress and the budget.

3) The GOP seem content with allowing it to balloon again, now that there's no one to rein them in after Jan. 20.

Maybe the right should finally discover the deficit.

And now thats suddenly a bad thing

Whether its true or not

You are such a tool

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 8:38:13 AM)

And now suddenly it's not?

What have you conservatives been talking since, well, forever?

[8|]

Add discussion points instead of name-calling. Exercise your brain.

More hypocrisy

Just when I thought I had seen it all from you

You are the worst one on here for name-calling, which is why you get so much of it back. Then you become a little baby, "MAMA MAKE THEM STOP!!!" [sm=baby_smiley39.gif]

Fuck you, baby. If you want an end to the name calling show us how it's done and stop being such a massive hypocrite about it

And before you go whining and crying about the Trump deficits AFTER remaining silent about Obamas deficits, why not at least wait until he has been president for a while and has signed a budget

And any time Republicans DO try for some fiscal responsibility, hypocritical alt left radicals like you act like its the end of the world

"Republicans hate blah blah blah"

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 8:51:50 AM)

So again . . .

The federal deficit will rise this fiscal year for the first time since 2009.

The bigger deficit will push the national debt to 77 percent of gross domestic product, the highest level since 1950, this year.

Perhaps you're unable Obama took office Jan. 20 2009.

tamaka -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 10:33:16 AM)

This is from 2013 but it gives you an idea of what happened during Obama's presidency.

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 10:39:17 AM)

However, the federal deficit hasn't risen since 2009.

Now, for the first time since 2009, the bigger deficit will push the national debt to 77 percent of gross domestic product, the highest level since 1950, this year -- 2017.

That's the concern . . . the huge deficit going forward.

Personally, I think ignoring it or making it even larger is reckless.

However many people want to dismiss it.

WhoreMods -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 10:51:13 AM)

If they don't dismiss it, then they might have to do something about it. That's how denial works, isn't it?

No, felchgobbler it has always been a bad thing, and it has always been pointed out. Nothing new.

You see, nutsuckers tell you they are fiscally responsible or fiscally conservative but they are imbecilic, innumerate borrow and spenders, and love their big government.

Two ways.

1) cut spending the largest target being the safety net, i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, SSI and SS.

We only refer to these because there is no govt. accounting for corporate welfare which of course will not be cut as the main reason and purpose of a repub majority in both houses.

2) Add revenues which would mean taxes on the middle class that is all but broke or the top 20% the top 5% of which are also repub political sponsors.

I am not holding my breath for either although as of Jan 20, 2017, the political power will be in place for no.1.

mnottertail -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 11:08:55 AM)

well, thats gotta be tongue in cheek.

Largest being military-industrial spending.
Tax the rich, and tax the living shit out of corporations, and take caps off ss.

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 11:49:22 AM)

And no more creative accounting.

WhoreMods -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 11:53:25 AM)

Given some of the shite he's been talking, el presidente could probably put a punitive import duty on American companies who manufacture everything in China without looking like a liar as well.

If you tax the living shit out of corporations they will move elsewhere and they will not have the money to invest in themselves to stay competitive, create more jobs, etc.

Taking caps off ss is basically stealing unless you are going to pay out more to those people when they retire.

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 1:09:40 PM)

No it's not. SS is already based on income.

tamaka -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 1:11:42 PM)

Yes but there is a limit (cap) to how much you pay into it per year. Once you hit that you don't pay in anymore that year regardless of how much you make.

Musicmystery -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 1:54:08 PM)

Well that's the point you replied to -- that those caps should be lifted.

tamaka -> RE: The looming deficit problem (1/12/2017 1:54:39 PM)

One thing i kind of (a bit reluctantly) question about ss is spouses benefits. A spouse who never paid into ss themself is eligible to receive ss benefits just because they were married to someone who did. I think that might be an issue... you are paying out a benefit to someone who didn't earn it. They don't even have to be an American citizen.
