Bummer!

So we're stuck with what we have until something positive happens.

I've done what I needed to do to make my experience better all round.
All we can do is wait and hope.

WickedsDesire -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (1/18/2017 7:42:13 AM)

Thanks Nookie

I have no right to ask this publicly did they state why..its just that I see a few core regulars holding this place together...and I am puzzled as to why many return here...as ive said in the past...prhaps its the free speech thingy on the forums - tis why i love this place...other than the time no3 went feral.
My words are well known over the quality of its actual userbase and sadness and gravy concern regarding why nothing is ever done, over the epochs and I have spoken about true choice...lives ruined..horrific stereotypes..the list is long..and i am not sure i made one iota of a difference anywhere.

i also said in the past I think one day this site will simply vanish - and i will actually miss some of you, truly.

NookieNotes -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (1/18/2017 11:02:07 AM)

There was no why. The lawyer simply said that Eric is not open to or entertaining offers right now. I asked him to let me know if that changes.

I'll keep on with what I'm trying to do, and hopefully, we'll find the right balance/solution, long-term, good for everyone.

needlesandpins -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (1/18/2017 2:04:02 PM)

It's a shame that he's not willing to sell. It would make perfect sense to do it now whilst the site still hold some semblance of actually being what it should be, and possibly could be. Much better that than letting ego rule, and risk losing the lot for spite.

I can't speak as to why others keep returning here, but for myself; I joined here looking for a place of my own that was kink related, where I could talk like an adult, swear if i wanted to, and not be judged by my playmate and accused of crap I wasn't doing. However, he then found out I was here anyway, still, I had nothing to hide, so whatever. There were people I liked, and people I didn't.

Those I don't like I ignore.

A few of those I liked the most have left, but the best of those I'm in contact with through social media, or email. The rest of whom I like are still here. It's too quiet for sure, but this site still holds promise if only it was sorted out and not just treated as a cash cow. I left for my own reasons for quite a while, I have done a couple of times, and I'm not the type to be missed, but coming back is a little like walking in to your local.

A few years ago M and I were looking to buy an auto repair business that is here in town. The owner had been an Iraqi refugee who married and divorced a woman from our area. The shop had a good reputation as a shop for European cars. Then the man went back to Iraq for a visit and the State Department wouldn't let him back into the US. That left his ex-wife running the business and doing the service writing (and she was bad at it).

They had it for sale for $120k. After reviewing the financials we offered $99K. He declined. A year later (and the ex-wife really wants out), they drop the price to $75K. We look at the recent financials (which have gone in the basement, including missing rent payments) - We offer $60K. He declines. Then another year later, they've decided to auction it off. Starting bid is $25K. M and I are the only people that show up. We talk to the manager of the shopping center and find out that he's about to start eviction for nonpayment of rent. We make an offer of $30K. (Which is essentially the equipment because business is nonexistent) Two weeks before the eviction, they sell to one of M's friends for $27K. (M had already opened his own shop at this point)

So, the owner's ego wanted what it wanted. He said "No" because of his ego 3 times. But, instead he missed three opportunities to sell for more money than he ended up getting in the end.

That's what I see happening with this website.

That's what I see happening with this website.

The owner has fought long and hard with health issues, legal issues, betrayal and attempts at a hostile takeover. I think at this point, he can't see the forest for the trees and is in a defensive battle stance mindset... I can imagine he sees selling as surrender. And that may not change.

WickedsDesire -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (2/14/2017 4:15:29 AM)

Thanks again Nookie

As I have said over the epochs the exact History is a mystery to me. I only have bits and pieces of what people say - yes i read the blog of her version before it vanished for evermore, therefore it would be completely unfair and wrong of me to try and assemble a picture from that.

I can be pretty stubborn regarding my version of what any site should be, and I suffer poor health. If it was me I would say I need help. I cannot manage. What do you suggest, propose etc

Main site page isnt loading just now so I thought I would type that :)

WTFUTURD -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (2/15/2017 6:10:33 AM)

It would be quicker to list what is right with it. That said, indifferent owners, lazy overpaid staff, under investment, a deficiency of innovative changes to improve the layout and programming errors, ineffectual moderators, cooperation with law enforcement embedded into the website, a parasite infestation, all manner of cyber criminals, trump supporters and much more besides.

When everything lags... nothing is right. So that list of what is right is pretty hard to imagine. Imagine your car, fridge, stove, lights etc, just randomly lag or time out and quit working. That's just plain broken and you wouldn't keep that equipment in service.

My hat's off to the faithful that remain.

I haven't had any problems with the website this past week. Fast , and can get into all the sub-catagories with not issues. Maybe "they" fixed what was wrong......

Well I am not a Trump supporter, but given all the issues you have with this website (and personally I have no problem with cooperation with law enforcement, maybe you do) maybe you should just demand your membership fee back

I've not been having the same issues as before either, so maybe someone has done something, but I won't hold my breath thinking that it will stay this way. After all, it doesn't mean that this isn't the quiet before releasing the next duff idea to mess with an already limping system.

Would it sounds meanspirited to say that a lot of the drooling retarded mouthbreathers who post on the site are a big part of the problem, and that maybe the mods, such as they are, feel that if the site's not working you're saved having to read their noxious bullshit?
(Yes, I am looking at you as I say that, you sorry little shit.)

Funny to say but I'm having the opposite. Could be because I'm using Mozilla. Who knows? Depending on the thread, I get the 502 Cloudflare errors. It's hit or miss.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox as well and have done for many years.
And yet, I am not suffering anywhere near as many hiccups as others on here.

I'm currently using v52.0b7.
Perhaps yours needs updating??

Diffident -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (2/18/2017 5:32:56 PM)

Things have improved here for me recently. It does seem like someone has done an update.

I would go for this, except for a very interesting part.

I don't have any hang-ups anywhere else. Not Fet, youtube, skype, or even WoW.

When everything else works, I'm probably not going to bother myself with updating. While I'm perfecting willing to accept that it's something on my end, there isn't enough content on the site to make it worth my while.

WickedsDesire -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (2/20/2017 10:52:47 AM)

Its playing up again today

LadyPact -> RE: What is wrong with this website? (2/20/2017 12:28:02 PM)

Oddly enough, after I made the prior post on the thread, the darn thing started working better for me.

Please keep in mind that I consider myself to be one of the least computer savvy person on the forums. Frankly, I suck at it. Based on this information, I usually think that the problem really is in the chair, not in the computer (or the website). However, when my experience is not singular, I'm pulled to think there is more to it.
