Trump team considers evicting press from White House

The first step of a dictator, right? Silence the press.

I'll bet making an enemy of the press isn't going to end well.

WhoreMods -> RE: Trump considering banishing press from White House (1/15/2017 11:17:53 AM)

But, but but... Obama did that as well! Or Clinton did! And the press were really nasty to poor George II!
(Or something.)

How about lets see what happens, nah why wait, he might not actually do it, then you would miss the chance to attack him for something, maybe some one will kill him an make you happy. I am sure you think he is worse than Reagan.

it would not be a violation of the constitution if he only allowed alternative news any exclusives since they are after all news media.

bounty44 -> RE: Trump considering banishing press from White House (1/15/2017 12:05:08 PM)

great, make the argument about how moving them next door to another building---SO THAT MORE CAN BE ACCOMMODATED---is the equivalent to "silencing the press??"

quote:

There has been no decision," said Sean Spicer, Trump's incoming White House press secretary, adding "there has been some discussion about how to do it."

Spicer questioned whether the current press area would have enough room for all of the reporters looking to cover the president-elect.

"There's been so much interest in covering a President Donald Trump," Spicer said.

"A question is: Is a room that has 49 seats adequate? When we had that press conference the other day, we had thousands of requests, and we capped it at 400 Is there an opportunity to potentially allow more members of the media to be part of this? That's something we're discussing."

youre increasingly reminding me of one of those hysterical people in tv shows/movies who will only calm down after someone slaps their face.

go read a book or something...

"The Press" has been the sworn enemy of all Republicans for generations now. You are a clown for trying to lay any rift at President Trumps feet, number one

Number two, you are just pushing more fake news, as always

President Trump wants MORE press, not less - because he has proven that he knows how to own those bitches

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-01-15/trump-team-may-move-briefings-from-west-wing-to-accommodate-more

Hillary and Obama on the other hand, very rarely gave press conferences or interviews - especially if they weren't in an extremely controlled environment

Wouldn't it be an interesting test of "infringing" in "infringing on the freedom of the press," ? Wonder what the current rules are for WH press credentials.

This is informative . . .

Today, after 50 years of covering the White House, Hearst newspapers columnist Helen Thomas announced her retirement after the widespread outrage that followed the release of a video in which she says that Jews in Israel should "go back to Germany and Poland." White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called Thomas’s remarks "offensive and reprehensible." But if the 89-year-old Thomas had insisted on remaining, could the White House have forced her out of the press corps?

Probably not. To get accredited for the White House, a reporter first needs to be approved for a congressional press pass by the Standing Committee of Correspondents, elected by accredited reporters. (A notable exception to this rule was Jeff Gannon of the conservative website Talon News, who was repeatedly allowed to ask — usually friendly — questions during the George W. Bush administration’s White House press briefings despite never being given a congressional pass. Gannon’s presence in the press room became a minor scandal when liberal bloggers revealed that he had posted X-rated pictures of himself on the Internet and had worked as a gay escort.)

First of all,. Trump is an R now, he said he would run for POTUS years ago because the R's are so stupid, they will vote for anyone that appeals. Then he proves them correct. So that means the press is now his enemy, so yes nothing new here.

What make the press their enemy ? They expose their corruption, lies, duplicity and hypocrisy.

Trump Team May Move West Wing Briefings to Expand Capacity

The incoming Trump administration is considering moving White House press briefings out of the West Wing to accommodate more than the “Washington media elite,” President-elect Donald Trump’s press secretary said.

“This is about greater accessibility, more people in the process,” Sean Spicer said Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Media Buzz.” Involving more people, including bloggers and others who aren’t from the mainstream media, “should be seen as a welcome change,” he said.

Wikileaks proved that the press colludes with Democrats, which is precisely why Democrats are so mad right now

Mad, at the wrong people entirely, too. Democrats really should appreciate an unbiased media as much as Republicans do

I guess we'll see. That shouting down performance at Wednesday's presser seems sharply at odds with the claims they're making in that piece.

Well, it looks to me like a way to dilute the power of the mainstream media, which seems to fit rather nicely.

How so. Why should President Trump be polite to CNN sleazebags, who broadcast unverified gutter trash rumors that they would never consider broadcasting were Hillary the subject

That shouting down performance, was awesome. [sm=applause.gif]

President Trump won because a good segment of society sees right through the alt left media and their false narratives, and we wanted someone just like Donald Trump to smack them down and put them in their place, which he is doing very nicely thank you
