Now,I know all even the unknown and I have yet to decide whom is the best Dr Who, ever. And the choices numbering be two are David Tennant and Peter Capaldi.

Oh, come off it. The best Who was Tom Baker. Everybody knows that.
(Although, if it's the Scottishness thing that's driven you to opt for Tennant and Capaldi, you're forgetting Sylvester McCoy...)

I wasn't keen on Tom Baker.
McCoy was just crap. Davison and Colin Baker weren't much better.

Strangely enough, I preferred Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee as the doctor.
The latest three have been so-so.

Is this an age thing? I've met people who are convinced that whoever was doing it when you were six is the definitive Who. It's quite a plausible argument in some respects.
(If you're counting John Hurt as one of the so-so last three, I'm not having that, btw.)
McCoy, I'm ambivalent about. He's a perfectly good Doctor, who worked very well indeed when the writers played to his limitationsstrengths as an actor. He certainly benefitted from the fact that (unlike Colin Wilson) they actually tried to give him a few decent stories to work with, but when he was required to act all angry it tended not to work (and not just because you're looking at him thinking "come off it: you used to be part of a double act on Tiswas with David Rappaport"). I'll forgive him a lot of failings for Ghost Light and The Happiness Patrol, though.

nah I loved Pertwee, I like troughton too.
I had to look at baker in a new light when he did the "she devil" series tho...
Theothers fell during my puberty years, wasnt bothered, but Tennant...far and away the best for me...in most things..
ok I have a huge lust for tennant.
I like Capaldi but he i havent got used to him as the doctor yet

Your devotion to me is admirable, but boring.

Why don't you discuss some topics, instead of continually thinking "how can I win an argument against MM today?"

Then we'd all be having discussions, instead of recess.

Tenant I really liked when he was doing his whole "alien war criminal with a viciously sadistic streak" thing (Family of Blood and The Runaway bride), but the impression of a better dressed Timmy Mallett he spent most of his other stories doing (toned down after Bliie Piper, who worked very well with Christopher Eccleston, but not very well at all with Tennant, but still turning up enough to irritate) was less appealing.

Pertwee, I possibly give more props than he deserves over his being Wurzel Gummidge as well, but you do get the impression that a lot of the stuff that's now seen as defining the Doctor as a character came in when Barry Letts took over as a producer. He also has some hugely good stories (and some rather less good ones that are still rather fun) including a very strong contender for the single best Who story they've ever done.

I'm a bit depressed by the lack of props John Hurt is getting in this discussion, though. He won me over as soon as he looked over Tennant and Smith and said: "I'm having a midlife crisis, aren't I?"
