State health insurance (followed by more) in Germany was introduced by Chancellor Bismarck, in 1883, as an anti-socialist measure.
It works for 134 years by now, is completely a-political, no government ever since then, whether monarchy, democracy or dictatorship right or left, ever wanted (or dared) to abolish it; it is a benefit for all.
Has been copied a few times in other countries since.
And if you knew just one bit more about German history, you might know that maybe the only 2 Nazi "Socialists" who dared to ask Hitler about some socialism, were the Strasser brothers, - one shot 1934 on personal order, the other escaped to exile in 1930.
There was nothing socialist about the NSDAP except a letter.
