ORIGINAL: bounty44 have posted this before, time to trot it out again: a quote by hitler: "We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." Hitler was named "Man of the Year" in 1938 by Time Magazine. They noted Hitler's anti-capitalistic economic policies: some of the tenets of the National Socialist German Workers Party Platform: "We demand that the State shall make it its primary duty to provide a livelihood for its citizens. "We demand the nationalization of all businesses which have been formed into corporations (trusts). "We demand profit-sharing in large industrial enterprises. "We demand the extensive development of insurance for old age. "We demand the creation and maintenance of a healthy middle class, the immediate communalizing of big department stores, "The State must consider a thorough reconstruction of our national system of education "The State must ensure that the nation's health standards… in short: "To put the whole of this programme into effect, we demand the creation of a strong central state power for the Reich; the unconditional authority of the political central Parliament over the entire Reich and its organizations; and the formation of Corporations based on estate and occupation for the purpose of carrying out the general legislation passed by the Reich in the various German states." hitler on gun control: "The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms." hitler and abortion: When the Nazis came to power in 1933 one of the first acts Hitler did was to legalize abortion. By 1935 Germany with 65 million people was the place where over 500,000 abortions were being performed each year. fascism is a form of totalitarianism where private property doesn't really exist and the power is concentrated in corporations owned and operated by the state. any of those things sound familiar?? (the hint being that they share much in common with today's leftism) and oh, found some others: "We demand a land reform suitable to our national requirements, the passing of a law for the expropriation of land for communal purposes without compensation; the abolition of ground rent, and the prohibition of all speculation in land." "To put the whole of this programme into effect, we demand the creation of a strong central state power... " not to mention anti-Semitism. again, Nazism is a leftists wet dream. (hey lucy---look! not only no townhall, but I had to understand and identify the similarities between the Nazi party platform and today's ahem "progressive one." not too shabby for being ignorant and lacking an ability to think!) The facts are simple: Hitler's "socialism" was a lie. Hitler was a liar. Your quotes from the 1920 NSDAP program are shortened. Some of the cut passages clearly reveal the anti-socialist völkisch position of the party program. One example: "21: Der Staat hat für die Hebung der Volksgesundheit zu sorgen [your quote ends here] durch den Schutz der Mutter und des Kindes, durch Verbot der Jugendarbeit, durch Herbeiführung der körperlichen Ertüchtigung ... " What "Protection of mother and child" meant (your deleted passage): Abortion laws were re-introduced in the penal code after 1933 (§§ 219, 220 German penal code.) German women had no access to contraception, higher penalty for abortion for a German woman, aiding abortion could be punished by death. Abortions for Jewish , Gypsy, other "races" women were encouraged. Your claim Hitler legalised abortion is an outright lie - he did exactly the opposite. Evidence can be seen in every edition of the Strafgesetzbuch (German penal code). These exist by thousands. Even legal libraries in the US should have them available. German socialists and communists were the first imprisoned in concentration camps. Up to the end of the war they (and those from other countries) formed the majority of inmates in Buchenwald, a considerable minority in many other camps. Private property existed of course: Göring, Krupp and other made very nice profits, including Ford and GM, these even got compensation for their German production plants damaged by the Allies. Odd how Hitler's lies still find naive believers, despite all historical facts evident to the opposite. This lies' mechanism of course still works today with some who are naive enough to believe what they want to believe, and fail to recognise a lie even if they cheered it the one day and the denial the other day.
