Instead Of Trump’s Wall, Let’s Build A Border Of Solar Panels

It would create jobs for would-be immigrants (so they don't immigrate) and a climate of civility between nations.

Sunlight in the northern deserts of Mexico is more intense than in the U.S. Southwest because of the lower latitude and more favorable cloud patterns. And construction and maintenance costs for solar plants in Mexico are substantially lower. Thus, building a long series of such plants all along the Mexican side of the border could power cities on both sides faster and more cheaply than similar arrays built north of the border.

Mexico might well be willing to chip in for that. And it would be useful, instead of silly and pointless and just expensive.

Perhaps if you and all of your alt left buddies can stop being so wild-eyed and insane, you could run candidates who don't gift Congress and State Houses and Governorships and the Presidency over to Republicans, then you could build massive welcome signs all along the border for illegals and terrorists and everyone else who wants to just waltz on in out of Paly-Doh and coloring books if you wanted

Musicmystery -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 8:45:48 AM)

Or maybe instead of throwing wild-eyed and insane money at a wall that won't work and that even Texas GOP opposes for conservative reasons, the administration could pursue policies that help instead of just running up a tab.

So you aren't liberal. And you aren't conservative.

Just anti-common sense, apparently.

You are a clown. Crowning yourself the arbiter of what conservatives believe and what constitutes common sense is a nice touch to your costume too

Musicmystery -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 9:47:07 AM)

Well, it sure LOOKS like these are conservatives warning about the cost and inefficiency.

Unless Texas suddenly went liberal.

Consider some issues, instead of figuring out why it's wrong if I shared the story.

And incidentally, I've long been a fiscal conservative. You're usually too busy making up shit to notice.

tamaka -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 10:40:38 AM)

Maybe solar panels with an electrified fence would work.

WhoreMods -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 10:53:56 AM)

Quite. It's not like they might try to cross the border at night when the fence won't be powered or anything, is it?

Uh huh, yeah. I am sure that fiscal responsibility fever overtakes you every time a conservative wants to spend a buck or two on a project you don't like, doesn't it [:D]

Musicmystery -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 12:05:01 PM)

Dumb. Pointless.

Like the wall, which is also ridiculously expensive.

Want immigration control? Let's try something with a chance of working.

I see you know as much about solar energy as you do about history, nothing.

Despite your training, repeating a lie often enough does not make it true.

Border security was something most Dems believed in just a few short years back, somehow they got the idea that all illegals vote Dem so that's out the window, and that's all that this is about.

Musicmystery -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 12:52:25 PM)

Border security is not the same as building a dumb, pointless, expensive wall.

Repeating the truth doesn't make it untrue either.

Like what do you propose? Any original thoughts that you haven't read about?

mnottertail -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 6:14:37 PM)

LOL, that didnt take long, Federal Judge blocks Il Douches unconstitutional immigration proclaimation, ending his dictatorship in that little area, now, we can move on to the next one.

Musicmystery -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 6:15:37 PM)

Why would I automatically discount good ideas someone has already shared?

That's not being smart -- it's being stubborn and foolhardy.

And why would I pretend to be an expert on immigration?

Instead, of course, I look to the (actual) experts, consider their views and their evidence, and in fact, people on both sides of the aisle have plans.

Here's the thing -- ALL of them will cost money. Personnel and enforcement means investment. Investment, so far, conservatives in Congress have been unwilling to make.

Why... because it would be a good exercise for you to try to develop your own imagination and creative thinking/problem solving ability rather than just being a research and reporter of everyone else's ideas. Any dumb fuck can do that.

Musicmystery -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 6:34:03 PM)

Any dumb fuck can pretend to be an expert on everything too.

But it won't make it true. It will just make the person an ignorant dumb fuck.

Now, in my own field and business and life, I have plenty of imagination and creating thinking / problem solving ability, and help others develop theirs.

But to ignore research is just willful blindness. Any dumb fuck can do that too.

Be as ignorant and ill-informed as you want to -- this is America!

But there's no special merit in it. If it pisses you off others don't join you there, demonizing them won't make you smarter or warrant any special merit either.

[sm=dunno.gif]

It comes to this -- when I need plumbing, I call the plumber. When I need a lawyer, I call the lawyer. When I need a doctor, I call the doctor.

To do otherwise would be foolish. To pretend it made me creative and smart would be the actions of a dumb fuck.

So would continuing this moronic conversation. Tell yourself what you need to tell yourself.

And incidentally -- Ooooo! The Topic! -- building an expensive wall that won't help enforcement that the entire Texas delegation opposes would also the the actions of a dumb fuck.

So would killing trade with Mexico. Trump is undoing the Bush administration as well as the Obama administration.

Tell yourself what you need to tell yourself MM. You know i am right.

mnottertail -> RE: Border Wall, Border War (1/28/2017 6:45:42 PM)

Its doubtful since Trump just got his ass handed him on one of his first exectuive orders, shall we analyse the lack of legal expertise to let a President embarrass america in the world like that and his own country?

Or should we say.....they are fucking stupid, and they should have had some expertise in ther?
