You interrupted my response to myself, Peon. How rude. And stole my Milo comment in the process.

Effing academicians, look what they do, how much they steal from others.

Now that's out of the way ...

How you been?

You and the imminently Twekkable must be having a field day, here.

I know my HS Senior niece is, no question. After all her "he isn't going to grab MY pussy!" comments 20 different places on social media, she is now all over some campaign against some national pet store who raises dogs not in the best way, to put it mildly.

The both of you, being the 'political types' that you are, should take heart that all is not lost, here.

I wish I had my head on that straight when I was her age. Maybe her mom and her uncle said a few right things after all, but she is vociferously independent in any case.

I don't care about Trump. I see and hear things from kids who will have the wheel 5-10 years from now, and I am only looking forward to it.

Damn, sorry Edwird ... I caught what you'd done later - and chortled - but it was too late to change my post.

I was of course pretty down about Trump's win and things only looked worse once he'd somehow finally managed to squeeze his oily orange carcass into the White House and started on his appointments of lunatics and goosesteppers to leading posts. However, I've been *massively* encouraged by the worldwide - and YUGE - opposition that has kicked off across the world.

I've seen various sneery little articles about the 'death of liberalism', 'end of the left', and so forth. However, I've also seen articles (by, it has to be said, much more respected writers and thinkers) that point to Trump being the catalyst of a whole new, progressive social movement - again, across the world. At the same time, pieces are popping up about the 'alt-right' - of which this Milo is an example - falling into disarray.

Things will be reinvigorated, as Trump promised, I believe. But I'm not at all sure that, in the longer term, they'll be reinvigorated in the way that he and his supporters envisage.

I don't think he has a problem with reinvigorating things... in fact i think that is his goal. He just wants to make sure America gets a good deal from it. We can't continue to live with massive trade deficits and we can't afford to pay for everyone's ultimate safety anymore. You academics really can't think.

The problem is that you have so little understanding of what reasoned thinking is that you don't recognise it when you see it, unfortunately.
