And the seat on the SC belongs to the American people. The Republicans deferred to the voters after Alito passed away to choose the president who would select the person to fill the vacancy. Hillary and Trump both told the voters the type of judges they would choose (Trump even published a list and swore to choose from that list exclusively). The voters selected Trump to fill the vacancy, and the rest is soon to be history.
No, there was no thought of a Supreme Court nominee when W was a lame fuck and actually that was 8 years he was a lame fuck. Supreme court was full up.
