Imam Husham Al-Hussainy, head of the Karbalaa Islamic Educational Center in Dearborn, Mich. told WJBK-TV that Mike Hager's mother died five days before Trump issued the executive order.

He confirmed Hager's 75-year-old mother had been treated in Detroit, where she lived, for kidney disease before traveling to Iraq to visit family.

Just like ten grand a year and ten grand deductible is saving money on medical insurance.

Well, there's the old law school saw that goes: post hoc ergo; propter hoc (Literally: after it. Therefore, caused by it). This term is usually used as a tautology since, it really proves nothing. Ex: I stop in a convenience store, buy a pack of smokes, smoke one and then I get in my car and back into a car, pulling in. The cigarette I smoked didn't cause the accident.

I'm just trying to be helpful, here:

Sarcastically, it could be: pre hoc ergo; propter hoc (it happened before something. Therefore it was caused by the thing that follows).

That's close, I guess?

Hmm, a Muslim Imam told the truth?

Gee according to some on these boards that would rate right up there with pigs flying.

But more to the point, the fact that this individual tried to capitalize on his own loss and profit from it, according to one report a fund was started for the family, is indicative of only the basic human motivator greed combined with the fact he was a liar and an asshole.

That's not a liberal thing. Republicans (are they liberals now that some of them objected to the ascension of il duce to the throne?) have spent their last half dozen or so terms of office whining that everything bad that they did they did was the fault of some "liberal" a term or three back. Dubyan was still blaming fucking Carter* for the dodgy state of the middle east after the al queda demolition programme in New York back in 2000.

I am quite familiar with the phrase but it does not fit. Post hoc ergo propter hoc means it happened after and therefore was caused by. what this is is that it happened BEFORE and therefore was caused by. As long as it was a republican.

Sorry, I am not breaking out a Latin book for it, and I blew off my buddy a couple weeks ago so I can't call his son in Colorado who is an expert on Latin so we are on our own.

I am not stron on Latin but it seems the proper phrase would be like "Post hoc (something else) propter hoc". I don't even want to think of a Google search string that would get us an answer for that.
