Once again, there's evidence suggesting traditional polls aren't accurately measuring support for the president and his policies.

Just how popular is Donald Trump? Two weeks into the new president’s term, it’s a matter of some dispute.

Traditional phone polls that use live interviewers — including some of the most trusted polls in politics and media — report limited support for Trump and the controversial executive orders he’s signed. But automated phone and Internet-based surveys tell a different story. Once the element of anonymity is added, the president’s approval ratings suddenly look a lot better.

It’s reigniting the campaign debate over whether pollsters are accurately measuring Trump’s popularity — or the breadth of support for his policies. The White House is already seizing on the issue, and forcefully pushing back against the early narrative that the president is suffering from historically bad polling numbers.

At Friday’s White House press briefing, when asked to comment on a newly-released CBS News poll — conducted by live interviewers — which put Trump’s approval rating at only 40 percent, press secretary Sean Spicer was ready with an alternate data point.

“I think there’s also a Rasmussen poll that showed he had a 51-percent approval rating,” Spicer replied sharply.

In my opinion, this is very likely, more than probable too, as I have very little trust with polls right now...but that had a lot to do with stuff before Trump.
Watching the numbers of marches, protests etc building(the peaceful ones) is heartening, and growing daily. But on the other hand he is doing what he set out to do...so his voters still love him. SO his numbers could well be much higher.

Well the polls also had Clinton winning the election.

Many people do not respond to polls, me included.

Funny how that claim seems to be the opposite in Russia, though they have no proof.

Anyway old White guys whose eyesight is not so good and therefore can't shoot the liberal army when they come to kidnap him might be afraid to answer honestly to someone who might very well know quite alot, at least the phone number. After these riots and blocking of freeways by these warriors I don't blame them.

There are also alot of people who do not want certain types of people in this country, the same types it happens, as Trump does not want in this country. You take them in your neighborhood.

the problem is that you cant believe 'anything' the mf's say! Not a damn thing unless you were there. These assholes in office have created a total shithole atmosphere for us because they set the state and attitude of this country. Nice to see a few people are starting to catch up to what I have been preaching for 20 years. Seriously, people still believe hijackers did 911, Mc Veigh acted alone, Waco was self defense, and oswald was the lone assassin, and the bullshit gets more incredibly over the top ridiculous at every new event. LOL

Oh yeh and its not an element of anonymity, there is no such thing over any electronic device, the russians are most likely politically far smarter than we are.

I don't know, though .... I can imagine a sizeable number of people voting for Trump in the belief that, somehow, he'd 'mellow' when actually in office.

I wonder also if those figures supporting his impeachment are also an underestimate?

Overall, though, I agree about the inaccuracy of the pollsters' work these days. God knows we've seen the results this side of the pond too. Psephology as a science has seen its rep plummet, overall.

When Left Media is simply only pushing their bias agenda. People are sick of it.

As usual, the Lefties leaning folks continue to be Nazis. The violence at Milo's conference to shut down his right to free speech is evidence.

Seriously, the real Free Speech party is the Right Party now it seems.

The Left is getting very very thug-like right now.

And while they cry about Muslims living in fear in Trump Regime and stand up Muslims.

But they are there oppressing people with different political views from them.

I guess the enemy of their enemy is their friend mentality is happening right now.

Not surprise people are scared to admit they actually agree with Trump because the Left is not fostering an open dialogue and friendly debate and open discussion on this issue. They are just condemning and they are doing to Trump Supporters, what they are accusing the Right of doing to Muslims.

Well, Rasmussen is infamous for creating poll questions that bring in pretend good numbers for Republicans. That's always a fake number.

But, Trump is popular in struggling rural communities. However, not as popular as Trump apologists think. They don't like a lot of what they see and hear from him. And they haven't seen a plan. They just hope he can bring jobs.

Unfortunately, so far he has only claimed to do so, and he clearly has no actual plans beyond Bannon's white nationalist agenda.

I'm not sure what will happen when those folks lose what little hope they see in him.

That aside Trump still doesnt believe he lost the popular vote to bitch witch binto by 3 million. And he was/is on record, as he often is on the twits with made up gibberish, stating that ~~illegals~~ savage darkies voted by the millions against Beelzebub, or was it that he refused to accept the outcome of the vote, or was that the media had made all this up and had it in for him - contrary to his actually tweets disproving it most clearly - and something bout a crowd of 40 billion at his inauguration - Honest! When I watched that I truly thought aliens were going to land unleashing their deadly heat rays, putting a stop to this Americashire's tomfoolery - some heat rays would have been nice :)

While the sample size seems unusually small, Reuters polling shows 48% in favor of Trump's immigration order, 42% opposed and 10% uncertain.
