This is an amazing video.

Awesome Video

This young woman in deep RED rural Tennessee, gets the teaching of Christ and accurately and correctly destroys the failed Republican Health plan (which is the SAME plan they had in '08)

Risk pools, and HSA's.

It is heartening to watch someone who is not the typical low-information voter.

I cant watch video where I am so i am going out on a little limb here, but I know this, if she is conflating the teachings of Christ with the role of government (which seems likely considering the source here), she's flat out wrong.

and it matters not one iota where she is from.

Fair enough, skip the Christ part, and find a way to watch the healthcare part. She accurately calls B.S. on Risk pools , and nails the problems with them.

1) They don't actually cover the "risks" they are designed to cover
2) They are FAR from affordable.
3) They are basically junk

Risk pools have been the center of Republican Healthcare policy since they abandoned the Heritage foundation's Romney/Obamacare idea. (And ONLY because Obama supported it. NO other reason. If Romney had run in '04 (instead of McCain) and won, we would have Romneycare as the law of the land. Every Republican supported it when it came out of the Heritage Foundation. I always laugh when I see the video of Chuck Grassley singing the praises of the individual mandate.)

Paul Ryan comes to town hall after town hall stating how wonderful they work. This woman knows better.

the only thing the government should be doing is getting out of the way of the free market working the way it would if people, and it, were left to their own devices.

in every area im aware of, maximizing competition and people paying with their own dollars ultimately produces the best product at the least expense.

I do not wonder why and their motives and why such speed.

Everyone who understands American politics clearly understands their motives.

As many Senate and House Republicans have admitted, their goal is for Obama, and by association, the Democratic Party to fail in the eyes of the U.S. public. (Particularly vis-a-vis the ACA and the Economy. )

Just a note:
I'm no fan of the Democratic party (or our failed 2-party system in general), and quite frankly, Obama's vision was a bit flawed in the context of the ACA. However, the Republicans pressured red state Democrats to settle for what we got in the ACA.

Obama was quite visionary in recognizing the KEY to lowering Healthcare costs in the U.S. is to bypass fee-for-service. His failure was to rely on the private fee-for-service payers to maintain a social equilibrium during the interim. (Not to mention, the failure of an individual mandate at a Federal level)

There has never been, is not now, and will never be; a free market on the face of this earth.

The free market does not maximize competition, it maximizes monopoly, it does not produce the best product it produces the best profit for the least amount of individuals.

Government should stand athwart the free marketeers with a battle axe and carve the death eagle on their backs the instant they are identified.

(Particularly vis-a-vis the ACA and the Economy. ) Can you explain your compelling narrative unto I and back it up with factual evidence, or should I just employ my steam drive knobkerrie and blooter you several dimensions over…out of sight out of mind – as they say

You need to understand that the totally "free" market, collapses on itself. If no one is there to referee, competitors collude, merge, and donate large sums of money to member of Congress in order to create legislation to reduce competition, devalue the provided product, and drive up prices.

There are MANY examples of this:

Airlines - Post deregulation:
Crappy product
Much worse service
Fees for everything

Pharma
Many copycat (and inferior) drugs manufactured solely to cash in
Prices rising thousands of percentage points

Healthcare is a poster child for this. (Particularly, since it doesn't meet all the criteria for a free market in the first place). It is a product that people are forced to buy, to continue living.

The payers created fee-for-service. The hospitals love it, because they can charge what they want, with little accountability for overall health outcomes and know the payers will pay it and pass the cost on to consumers. Medical practices like it, because it is a guaranteed source of income (although they can't bury costs like hospitals do). The payers love it, because they have a monopoly with the providers (who they keep happy), and that translates to a monopoly with the providers.

The result...
Ever increasing premiums before and during Obamacare. Significantly decreasing scope of coverage (before Obamacare).

The bottom line: The free market is GREAT and can create great value and drive down prices. But the government needs to do more than "stay out of the way". The government needs to referee to keep the free market healthy. Otherwise competition is minimized (not maximized(

I hope that there are people like her, (actually informed, rather than purely sycophantic) all over the U.S. (ESPECIALLY in Red States)

That's a bit morbid. I pray that she and other well-informed voters in this country have a long and prosperous life. :)
