Neither people from both sides or people in general are all scum and I will not fall into the trap that all politicians are of a moral equivalence here. I am sure there are politicians both right and left, businessmen and elites both of all persuasions as well as the 'ordinary' man, who are truly hoping the best for this country, their family and their neighbor but yet cringe when this clown signs in EO, tweets or gets on the phone with any ally and deals with foreign problems and policy.
In all of my adult life, I have been an independent old-school conservative politically and yet have not seen the democrats while corrupt, never be so willing like the right of today, to fold like a wet suit in their commentary and behavior, toward such as their various constituencies whether the religious right, economic right (greedy rent-seekers, bankers...all) and fail to stand up to or even correct or disavow even such megalomania as we've seen in Trump.
So I am not buying this continued denigration of everybody on all sides. I just truly dislike the ridiculous marshmallows and their outlandish hypocrisy on the right of today who will fall in line with whatever the right pols do...no matter what it is anymore.
As for Obama, he was left a house burning in a raging fire on all counts and the repubs like petulant little boys, took the fire hose and went home and still dealt with those assholes with class, dignity and stayed the course in Iraq, Afghanistan, the bankers, GITMO, the drone war...you name it.
Is Trump narcissistic, insecure and greedy capitalist scum in my view ? Yes. Is he a bull in the China shop politically and often personally ? Yes. But where is the old-school right of today to check his failings and insecurities ? Nowhere...all political pussies.
Here's a prime example of how things have changed. I watch C-Span online every AM. They have the 'Washington Journal' for 3 hours 4 AM to 7 AM my time, call-in show. It has become a comedy of sorts with the unadulterated ignorance of so many callers but recently they had an entire 3 hours on Obama's legacy on race relations.
Now can you believe that fucking nonsense ? They never since Brian Lamb started C-Span, (1979) EVER asked about ANY other president's legacy on race relations. So why now ? Because Obama is black, ya'think ?
And this is C-Span...celebrated for its neutral objectivity which has failed them sorely without Lamb having given up on point/counterpoint and allow the liars to come on....and lie.
