The media is over and has been won by the media. Ever since the 1996 Telecommunications act, the newly permissible consolidation has meant a very narrowed and purposeful message. 9 months of debate in congress...19 minutes of national broadcast coverage.

You just dont get it. It is not as simple as trade deficit. I doubt many of you fuckwits arguing about global trade would be prepared to pay top dollar prices to have the goods made in the USA. Your deficit of some $347 billion pales against the $1.049 China holds in US Treasury Notes.

And we all could afford to buy what we needed. We kept our own economy going. We may not have had a walk in closet the size of a small bedroom, but we had what we needed and it was good quality.
