the "travel ban" is irrespective of 9/11. it has to do with each individual country's inability, due to lack of a fully functioning government, to work with the usa in properly assuring that visitors aren't terrorists.

Utter BS. The seven banned countries have produced a grand total of ZERO terrorists who've killed a single American, since 1975. This ban was 100% aimed at impressing his idiot bigoted base.

Trump continues to lie straight-faced to the country when he says "we don't vet our refugees". it's total nonsense. We have in fact had a PERFECT record vetting. Which is what you tend to get when you have 12 agencies examining the applicants and a two year process. We HAVE "extreme vetting". As a result we've accepted 800,000 middle eastern refugees since 9/11, and not one has committed a terrorist act. Trump's fearmongering demagoguery is targeted at his low-info, ignorant racist supporters. NOT at helping America's security in the slightest.
