Will it be a case of 3rd time lucky for the hapless Dear Leader Thump?

After his 1st choice for National Security Adviser Gen Flynn was forced to resign under a cloud, and his second pick Harward refused the role, Dear Leader Thump has announced his 3rd pick for the position career soldier H R McMaster. A numbber of Cabinet appointees have failed to make it past the nomination stage also. Will this finally put to bed the furore over Dear Leader Thump's bungled NSA appointments?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/20/trump-appoints-hr-mcmaster-national-security-adviser

Contrary to all appearances, Dear Leader Thump insists his White House is running "like a finely tuned engine". While cynics could be forgiven for thinking that this is another example of Dear Leader Thump's addiction to "alternative facts' and "fake news", will Dear Leader Thump's Administration finally get down to doing the job it was elected to do?

We are only a little over a month into this epic comedy and there's no sign of the laughs stopping or even slowing down yet. Will this hapless hopeless Dear Leader Thump ever get his act together? How long can the USA remain the laughing stock of the world?

I noticed the Guardian photo of the three men gazing intently ahead. Are they watching re-runs of the Miss Universe contest, do you suppose, or of the Apprentice?

Der Trumpf, it is reported, has played six rounds of golf these first 30 days of his tenure. When does he have time to watch Fox News? Apropos of which, there is some rumor that he gets his news from television because his reading level is fourth grade at best. Could that be true and him a college grad? Hmmm . . . well, some footballers have been known to do so.

One can only hope that the weight of his responsibilities will have their effect and soon spare us his daily intrusions into our lives. Obama was first prone to making too many speeches, I recall.

Carry on.

Now, why ever are the trumptooners not complaining about that? Playing golf on the job was the worst thing ever when Obama was doing it, after all.

Because while he is golfing, he is getting many things done as well.

But on the other hand. It looks like Trump final pick is a good one.

It's not tradition for Presidents to pick military dudes for this position. Trump is doing it the unusual way.

I think this is an acceptable hiccup for a man with no political experience.

And second dude felt he would have no autonomy, thus he rejected the position.

First dude, just implicated himself by negotiating with Russia which he has no rights to.

Damned near traitorous given it was likely on behalf of the candidate.

1. He called Hillary Clinton a crook.
You bought it.
Then he paid $25 million to settle a fraud lawsuit.

2. He said he’d release his tax returns, eventually.
You bought it.
He hasn’t, and says he never will.

3. He said he’d divest himself from his financial empire, to avoid any conflicts of interest.
You bought it.
He is still heavily involved in his businesses, manipulates the stock market on a daily basis, and has more conflicts of interest than can even be counted.

4. He said Clinton was in the pockets of Goldman Sachs, and would do whatever they said.
You bought it.
He then proceeded to put half a dozen Goldman Sachs executives in positions of power in his administration.

5. He said he’d surround himself with all the best and smartest people.
You bought it.
He nominated theocratic loon Mike Pence for Vice President. A white supremacist named Steve Bannon is his most trusted confidant. Dr. Ben Carson, the world’s greatest idiot savant brain surgeon, is in charge of HUD. Russian quisling Rex Tillerson is Secretary of State.

6. He said he’d be his own man, beholden to no one.
You bought it.
He then appointed Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, whose only “qualifications” were the massive amounts of cash she donated to his campaign.

7. He said he would “drain the swamp” of Washington insiders.
You bought it.
He then admitted that was just a corny slogan he said to fire up the rubes during the rallies, and that he didn’t mean it.

8. He said he knew more about strategy and terrorism than the Generals did.
You bought it.
He promptly gave the green light to a disastrous raid in Yemen- even though all his Generals said it would be a terrible idea. This raid resulted in the deaths of a Navy SEAL, an 8-year old American girl, and numerous civilians. The actual target of the raid escaped, and no useful intel was gained.

9. He said Hillary Clinton couldn’t be counted on in times of crisis.
You bought it.
He didn’t even bother overseeing that raid in Yemen; and instead spent the time hate-tweeting the New York Times, and sleeping.

10. He called CNN, the Washington Post and the New York Times “fake news” and said they were his enemy.
You bought it.
He now gets all his information from Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, and InfoWars.

11. He called Barack Obama “the vacationer-in-Chief” and accused him of playing more rounds of golf than Tiger Woods. He promised to never be the kind of president who took cushy vacations on the taxpayer’s dime, not when there was so much important work to be done.
You bought it.
He took his first vacation after 11 days in office.
On the taxpayer’s dime.
And went golfing.

12. Hes costing the people millions for his rent and security, in one month more than obama did
in a year

And that’s just the first month.
There are more....anyone got an idea of some more?
I could mention the massacres in sweden, atlanta and bowling green,
russia...

I'm not panicking, because, he ain't a politician, he isn't going to conduct himself like a politician, and he is going to make mistakes as he figures his way throughout his new job.

He will get his bearings eventually.

I don't know about you guys. But I have been in jobs that i know absolutely nothing about and muck everything up in the process of learning how to do it properly.

This is not about mistakes. Trump is selling America to the corporates and systematically dismantling protections for consumers. The EPA, the FCC, The Department of Energy are all headed by critics who want to dismantle them and destroy their protections for consumers.

Anyone who believes in free markets is a fucking moron.

His 2 main promises is bring jobs back to America. And making the economy better.
I don't know enough about economics to discuss the benefits or non-benefits of what he is doing.
But will have to see results for that 4 years later if everything he dismantled or implement have indeed contributed to him fulfilling his promise.

Even Justin Trudeau himself admits that sometimes economy needs to come before environment, when he himself approved some pipe line thingy that got environmentalist angry at him for breaking his promise.

And this was the PM who said Climate Change is the most pressing issue of the world! Then reality sets in. It's may not be in practicality.

The other thing is, this is the Republican party after all, and they are all about small government, as little governing of anything as possible. So I guess in some ways, there is going to be alot of dismantling. Since Republicans are ruling everything right now.

No. Net neutrality is not a political weapon, it's a defense of the consumer to prevent corporations leveraging their massive power to make life worse for consumers.

What you've just said is a conservative fantasy promoted by corporations who want you to believe things which work against your own self-interest. It has always bewildered me why the poorest and least able members of society believe the words of a political party devoted to enriching themselves at the expense of taxpayers.

In what other area of its purview could the FCC be 'weaponized ?' That most recent Internet ruling was the most and in some circles, the singularly most important ruling by the FCC in many years, maybe ever...so the implication is obvious.

Net neutrality is the first protection which the new FCC head is dismantling. You just claimed the FCC was a political organisation and now you're pretending that net neutrality isn't part of that political agenda you've just claimed.

Your contentions lack facts and are the product of believing too much Republican dogma. Here's a clue for free, dude. They lie to you. All the time. I've yet to see a Republican actually advocate for legislation which doesn't - in some way - enrich the very corporation who's been giving him money.

It's one thing to be a whore - it's another thing to be dumb enough to swallow a whore's lies. You're figuratively swallowing the jizz which corporations have pumped into Republican senators.

They literally want to regulate mud puddles

Just one example

Then theres "The Fairness Doctrine" and those who want to bring that back, to destroy people like Rush Limbaugh

In the name of fairness, like any good leftist Orwellian program

Why The Fairness Doctrine Is Anything But Fair

Let's clarify. They want to regulate anything within a 100 feet of a waterway. And that's relevant given that cleaning up standing water is THE primary reason for the reduction of malaria world-wide.

Plus... I'd like to keep toxic chemicals away from our waterways. It's a survival thing.
