BoscoX -> Trump exchange with black journalist sparks outrage (2/21/2017 6:06:28 PM)

I decided that this incident deserves its own thread:

What if I proved to you that the media is pushing utterly false narratives, twisting reality and doing things like editing video in order to cast President Trump as (for example) a hateful racist

Is it wrong for him to object, and work to correct the record?

Example: Top Yahoo! "News" Headline the other day, from the AP:

Trump exchange with black journalist sparks outrage

Top comment under the article - 1038 thumbs up, 91 thumbs down:

quote:

This is absurd. I watched the press conference twice, saw the exchange between Trump and Ryan and thought nothing of it. When I read this dramatic, racially-loaded headline I had no idea what it could possibly be. The president seemed genuinely interested in answering her questions fully and meeting with the CBC And somehow, some DNC operative with a byline finds a way to make it about race. Have you not noticed that the right is ignoring the drama, the protests and the campaign of divisive hatred from the left? While democrats waste their time organizing chaos like petulant children, President Trump is doing great things. Barrack Obama's monumental mess will be fixed and sooner than you think.

I searched Google for video of the exchange but all of the top Google results were edited so that the part of the exchange that casts president Trump in a favorable light is left out. This edited video, from a CBS story is used in all of the top Google results, including a Politico story and a few others. Again, CBS snipped off the part of the exchange that was most convenient for the media's false narrative that 'TRUMP IS A MEAN SPIRITED RACST AND HE BEAT UP ON A BLACK REPORTER!!!"

Here is the full video of the press conference. The exchange with the "black reporter" April Ryan begins at about 110:20, very near the end of the news conference. The part that Google and CBS are presenting, their edited video, casts the exchange in a very different light than the full exchange proved to be. And they do this every day, a lot

Your "liberal" "friends" in the media, want you to remain uneducated, ignorant, and filled with hate and rage for half of the country for no good reason (identity politics) and he is trying to pull you out of that in order to unite the country on common ground for the common good

You're quoting a Trump supporter in the comments section as if he's an expert on the subject... this is what you have been forced to do to support your ridiculous assumption that Trump is a normal person and everything is fine.

The issue here isn't that he 'beat up a black reporter', it's that he thinks that a black reporter can set up a meeting with the CBC. This demonstrates an unbelievable amount of ignorance, as well as racism in that he just assumed what is essentially a random black person-- a REPORTER-- would be able to set up a meeting between himself and other black people, which are in fact POLITICIANS and who work alongside him. He is so lazy about checking his facts that he didn't realize the CBC had already made a serious attempt to set up a meeting, and Elijah Cummings insisted that if he had been trying to meet with them, he would have jumped at the chance. He is so clueless and lazy and stupid that he didn't even know what the CBC WAS!!!

Trump is a lying, ignorant, incompetent piece of shit and the lies he tells are stupid and blatant-- that's the point. People are shaking their heads in disbelief that this man is president-- it has nothing to do with him savagely attacking anyone. You are quoting someone who DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE STORY.

Oh the fucking horror

Can you whiny little drama queen snowflakes pack any more butt hurt over nothing into a post

The reporter was shilling for the CBC, all but accusing the president of racism for not kowtowing to them

Of course he was connected

Even if he wasn't so what.

This is where are all arguing over Trump leads.

You don't need us to tell you Trump is racist, a liar, tax dodger who wants you to pay, draft dodger who gets soldiers killed by not doing his homework, loathsomely bad husband and father, against the rights and liberties of others, emotionally a spoiled 6-year-old, and only concerned with himself, ultimately. You can see these things in every decision the man has made since he took office.

You like him because he subscribes to the 'poor you' view you have of your life as someone forced to pay for social programs for the good of society, even though Trump himself has likely had more of your taxes than a poor person ever has. You, like a lot of other people, are embarrassingly and willfully ignorant of where your money is actually going and how your preciousness and Obama butt-hurt has prompted you to throw support behind an obvious ass. That makes you the snowflake-- willing to let your country burn to the ground because a black man was your Commander-In-Chief, as actually made things a lot better, despite years of obstruction.

I've never understood deep conservatism in kink people. You've no doubt at some point heard of the Martin Niemöller quote. Believe it or not, if you're in this forum, you are one of the people fascism comes for, eventually, in autocratic rules. Once immigrants aren't 'the problem' anymore, next it'll be the transsexuals and then the gays, and eventually, they do get around to the 'perverts'. You are so gleefully into seeing others get their rights stripped away so that the playing field is no longer level and you once again have an advantage, right up until the moment that your own liberty is affected in a blatant and undeniable way.

There is no butt hurt.
There is no whining.

You're simply wrong... telling you that doesn't mean I'm whining.

You're the one whining about how it's so unfair and Trump is so oppressed because some stupid redneck who posts in the comments section of a new site says so.

I honestly don't even care if you enjoy being wrong and complaining about stupid shit... it's not like you've had any reservations about it so far.

BoscoX -> RE: Trump exchange with black journalist sparks outrage (2/22/2017 2:35:56 AM)

The president asked it in the form of a question anyway

Didn't assume anything

There you go, so when we ask you to set up a meeting with pedophiles ..............

You're so deluded. You can't see racism because you choose not to. Once again, you're on a dishonesty tact.

Of course; the use of a question mark changes everything:

Are you for real?
Do you really not understand that the question was racist in nature?
Can you see the dishonesty in this approach yet, or is this one more thing you've elected not to see, as it spoils your worldview?

MasterBrentC -> RE: Trump exchange with black journalist sparks outrage (2/22/2017 6:22:58 AM)

As I recall, the members of the CBC refused to attend the inauguration. Now who's racist?

mnottertail -> RE: Trump exchange with black journalist sparks outrage (2/22/2017 6:29:22 AM)

We will recall you if we need you.

I think this is irrevocable proof that you are.
