President Trump said Monday that "nobody knew that healthcare could be so complicated," as Republicans have been slow to unite around a replacement plan for ObamaCare.

"I have to tell you, it's an unbelievably complex subject," Trump said after a meeting with conservative governors at the White House.

I watched my grandmother as she was dying, chest heaving, gasping for breath. My cousin is an RN in a nursing home and she tells me stories of families who insist that they do cpr on their family member. She can feel their ribs breaking and she has to do it anyway. Sometimes it just gets to a point where people need to accept death.

Around 90 they try to convince the family to convince mom or dad to sign a DNR...Do Not Resuscitate form. That is unless of course they are on a very profitable drug or therapy protocol.

The hosp., insisted on 4-6 weeks of chemo upon discovering lung cancer in my father at the age of 83 even though everybody knew it wouldn't cure him or even slow death. Sure enough, after 6 weeks, they took him off chemo put him on a morphine drip and he could shake all of our hands...goodbye.

[They] ALL wanted that extra $20-$25,000 in treatment for which they could further rape Medicare. Plus $750-$1,000 a day for the hospital stay. Total for less than his last 2 months...$40,000.

Maybe you would like to stand and watch and do nothing for an 88 year old person, as they die... When they can be helped, Im not talking about DNRs or CPR expectations and family wishes.
I do understand a families position. We had to make the decision about my father. My mother in law and a brother.
I also know what its like as a nurse. So that was my bad, for not clarifying further.
I meant no disrespect to your loss and experience..

Actually didnt senate move to repeal obamacare within the first 1-2 days - it was certainly within the first week. Yeh okay dark lord lets repeal and replace it with er, ooo, ah, oh erm. Now you have to examine why they did this. As opposed to say this is our alternative plan and we are going repeal it

Status: offline 		Fair comment but surely you mean the Americashire jackals health system - I would talk about the NHS ( I have tried to in the past on here) but most people here do not give a fuk as they live in their own bubble universe.

They have the most profiteering health system in the world - and the majority of them are blissfully unaware. Yet oddly they are not blissfully unaware of the sensationalist type headlines - like the paupers and wretches are driving up you insurance premiums, or was it Obama, or was it immigrants.

Infact they kill themselves at the rate of 35-50 000pa from opiates alone.

Status: offline 		Back in the 80s I worked for a large American Hospital company as a Finance Manager, which is how I have experience of Private Health care in the UK and also have been on the commisioning teams of hospitals in Egypt and Singapore. Even then the American team were talking about what a difficult time they were having in the US due to the high costs patients were being charged against the payments they were receiving from the Insurance companies. Doctors were so worried about being sued that they asked for all the tests they could think of just in case. The insurance companies would only pay for what they considered necessary leaving a large shortfall. So even at that time US healthcare was controlled by the Insurance companies.

The UK system is not perfect but at the moment my Mother is in hospital after a fall. She is 86 and has had 2 operations on her hip and broken femur. She is about to be moved to a rehabilitaion hospital close to her home where they will provide her with physio and care to get her back on her feet and walking again. No cost to her and her care has been amazing. All paid for by the NHS which is funded by contributions she made while she was working. No middle man Insurance company involved to raise the cost of care.
