And for the record I don't agree with segregated communities or religious schools. I think that people should live together in the same geographical and social space, have their religious education outside school, practice their local and national politics together but worship separately if that is what they want. So no I would not encourage anyone to live in a single faith community. What I also would not do however is pick out one group that expressed that wish and pretend that it was just them that was doing it. People go out of their way to create rich white communities, Jewish communities, Catholic and Protestant communities in the UK alone. We have areas within our cities which are so nearly exclusively white, asian, black, Catholic and Protestant, that some sensitive people can feel uncomfortable being different if they chose to live in those areas. There is no official sanction to stop any of this. Indeed we call it free will and choice. So I'm not going to get over-excited about a small group of muslims trying to do this as of it was the thin end of some terrifying wedge. The issue here isn't that white people would be criticised for doing this but that you are picking out a very small group of muslims to make a point when many groups have been doing this for years.
