Wilbur Ross worked at the bank of Cyprus alongside a Putin-appointed ex-KGB agent-- both as vice chairmen. The bank has loaned Trump over $300 million which he has not paid back.

The Bank Of Cyprus has extensive ties to Russian oligarchs, usually laundering money. Among its clientele is the Russian oligarch who once bought a $100 million home from Donald Trump in 2008-- a deal that helped to save him from financial ruin, and was well over twice the price that he paid for it-- only 4 years after Trump bought it and during an economic recession in which the real estate market was hit especially hard.

The house was full of mold and Trump's 'renovations' largely amounted to applying cheap gold paint to some of the faucets. It is now being torn down at a huge loss.

Trump's new secretary of commerce bought a vice-chairman seat at a bank that was essentially taken over by Putin himself in 2010.

The head of that bank was the former CEO of the bank that gave Trump a massive loan that he hasn't repaid... and was handed the job by Putin himself as well as his KGB cohort, the second richest man in Russia.

The Bank of Cyprus is run by a real rogue's gallery. There's shady Russian billionaires mingling with bank executives with shady pasts.

One bank executive is a refugee from the Royal Bank of Scotland, which had to be bailed out by the UK taxpayer after it got into difficulty during the GFC of 2008. And another executive has a CV that includes a forced resignation from a previous position due to his role in the LIBOR banking scandal, which 'fixed' interest rates for inter bank loans and cost clients hundreds of millions.

And the boss, Ackermann, who had to resign his previous role after a colleague who committed suicide left a note blaming Ackermann for "pressuring" him. This scandal is still unfolding with more juicy titbits in the offing.

It has all the appearance of a retirement home for compromised bank executives whose main business appears to be laundering the occasionally legally obtained funds of Russian billionaires.
