Obamacare was based on the lie that if you have insurance, you have health care.

Getting decent health care in the U.S. is a lot more likely with insurance than without it.

quote:

If that logic held true' my car insurance would be covering oil changes and worn out parts as well as accident damage.

I'm not sure this analogy really works. The medical equivalent of oil changes is preventive care, which can save a huge amount of illness, pain, and expense. As for "worn out parts," should we not replaces hips and knees that no longer function?

Musicmystery -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 11:05:37 AM)

Plus oil changes would likely be within the deductible.

More proven lies .....sad little troll.

I am happy, very happy - my party has all the power.

And I am also telling it exactly like it is. Why do you think the Democrats have lost so many seats in local and national elections, lost everything

Because of "the Russians?"

Because they loved the Democrat's record of honesty?

[image]http://cdn.smosh.com/sites/default/files/ftpuploads/bloguploads/laughing-gifs-foolish-human.gif[/image]

I'm not fond of Democrats these days either, but the GOP lost seats in both the House and Senate, so not true at the national level.

The GOP did well on governorships.

Given the daily bullshit of the Trump team, I'm not sure pinning your hopes on honest is such a good strategy.

From the alt left Washington Post:

These 3 maps show just how dominant Republicans are in America

Musicmystery -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 11:13:28 AM)

This article shows gains since 2008, and acknowledges just what I said above about the 2016 election, and adds that at the state level, things were largely a stalemate, with just a few governorships changing the battle.

Other than the White House, it's largely a story of status quo.

With the status quo being that Republicans have pushed the Dems off the map

Musicmystery -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 11:51:45 AM)

Yes, that's true.

They deserve it too.

The whole mess has become oligarchy vs. oligarchy.

Trump v. Clinton was just the symptom. The real "revolution" is yet to come.

Lucylastic -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 1:17:49 PM)

Back to the topic. Where qre trumps promises. Not what is wrong with obamacare?

Musicmystery -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 1:51:59 PM)

Well, if that's the focus of the thread, what's there to say? I took the question rhetorically, since clearly his campaign promises and the reality are miles apart. And his supporters don't seem to mind.

tamaka -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 2:02:30 PM)

What i'd be interested in seeing, and i've tried to search for it online but can't find anything, is... what actually would happen if we kept Obamacare. The republicans say that they should keep it as is so everyone will see and experience how Obamacare implodes over the next several years, but then they say it would be irresponsible of them to do that. I'd like to see what those projections are for the next 5 years. If they went over it somewhere, i missed it.

The Trump revolution is here, open your eyes.

We have had a revolution every four years just like clockwork for two centuries, too bad leftists hate the democratic process so much

This isn't a revolution. It is just more of the republican same-old, same-old. A revolution may come some day, but Republican strength will remain as long as people fear war with Russia, China, or anywhere else.

mnottertail -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 2:50:31 PM)

Yeah, quite a revolution. Commies in the whitehouse, North Korea walking all over us, every weekend at Mara Largo on the taxpayer dime, lies outta the whitehouse, and money being wasted investigating those lies.

What a revolution.

President Trump isn't even a Republican

Much less a "same old same old" Republican

The "same old" business as usual politicians hate him

He is taking away their monopoly on power, defying the establishment that RINOs and leftists love with all their hearts and all their souls

Lucylastic -> RE: Where are trumps promises? (3/14/2017 3:13:04 PM)

Petty.
Considering what he was investigating, getting fired has caused more investigation, not less,
This is going to backfire spectacularly on the admin.
They aint so smart....more like homer SMRT

So we've replaced the Muslim Brotherhood with Commies in the WH.
North Korea has been walking all over us since Obama prostrated himself to China.

And i don't blame him for going to FL. Why should he have to lower his lifestyle as president?

More from the same link:

There’s been a lot of faux outrage about this decision of Trump’s, but it’s all bogus. And Bharara’s refusal to resign was childish, an effort to score anti-Trump points with Democrats that, all by itself, demonstrated why Bharara was unfit for office and why Trump was right to let him go.
Here’s the thing to understand: United States attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president. The prosecution of crimes, including the decision of which crimes to prosecute and which crimes not to prosecute, is at the discretion of the executive branch, which ultimately means the discretion of the president. U.S. attorneys work for the president in that capacity. And if the president thinks someone else would be better, he’s free to fire them and replace them.
And there’s nothing whatsoever unusual or improper about doing so, something the press has no trouble remembering when the incoming administration is run by Democrats. When Barack Obama took office, he dismissed a bunch of U.S. attorneys. Attorney General Eric Holder explained that “Elections matter — it is our intention to have the U.S. attorneys that are selected by President Obama in place as quickly as they can.”
