ORIGINAL: Musicmystery Mother Jones (yeah, I know, the conservatives just had embolisms) has an interesting piece, titled "Is Trump Trying to Fail?" Here's the lede: So far we have: -A health care bill so gratuitously brutal it seems almost intended to fail. -A budget that's very plainly just a piece of performance art designed to outrage liberals. -A new immigration order so similar to the first one that Trump must have known it would be blocked in court. -A funding request for a border wall that's basically a demand for a blank check that Congress will never pass. -A string of conspiracy theories (illegal voting, Trump Tower wiretaps, Obama is masterminding leaks) seemingly designed to waste congressional time. -And, of course, an endless series of hollow executive orders, bombastic tweets, and sob stories about the media mistreating poor Donald. Incompetence is the obvious explanation for all this, but you gotta wonder. Is Trump trying to fail so he can blame everyone else when things go to hell while he remains a populist hero? Just by accident you'd think he'd do a few things that might actually work. First of all if you still need your Mother... You are in no position to judge, don't you get that ? You did not turn $400 million into billions and you also have not won a Presidential election. Do you understand that ? I don't care how he did it, he did it. Nixon had major finance for his campaign from a poker game. I don't want to even talk about either Bush. But they were President and that was that. I read that a California town voted to impeach Trump. What the fuck ? This must have been a welfare recipient's inititative or something because states do not vote on impeachments. They have no idea how this government works at all. But it does prove they know nothing. Trump may actually seee that a total default would be good for the US, as he has quite the experience in bankruptcy. But who is to say he is wrong ? If you can see the bigger picture, it is not all that off the wall as you might think. We would have a reequalization of wealth because those who have stolen the most will suffer the most under the currency devaluation. I will tell you this, if I was President I would default, right now. Kill the US dollar so that we have to go back to making things for ourselves. That would be the result, and if it can't recover then it can't. If this fucker is crazy enough to do this there is a possibility that he will be heralded as a genius. He knows how to deal in debt, we are in debt. I have actually, in the long past, advocated strict trade policies and tariffss. And if anyone things that US treaties n shit was good for us, it costs almost nothing to ship direct to your door from China, ask Global Computer. But try shipping something TO China. That is a whole different story. The agreement was free trade, not fair trade. Let it rock and keep your fucking TV sets, they only rot the mind anyway. Give your kids a book. Remember books ? Fukum. There are countries beating down the door for the US market, even though the money is all on credit, once they get it it is not their problem. They know it is coming to the end and business now wants it all right now. And that fuels the engine of our default. I will not call it a failure because it is not. But it is a decrease in status and actually might cause the USD not to be for oil anymore. Trump is known for finding cheap business to buy, and eventually liquidate like Romney did, though it is claimed that he tried to save those businesses, it showed little in the way of real results. Romney did not even try. But then - he lost. Trump, in his own mind might be thinking to really run it into the ground, I have to agree. That is usually not so good for a country, but for the US it might be a good plan. Some say to tell other countries to pay their fair share of what we put into their national defense, but the problem is that we bought all our friends and when the money stops, it is over. Saudi Arabia is a perfect example of this I think. If I were President I would de-nut the Fed, but not abolish them. I would create a new thing that would oversee them, possibly headed by Alan Greyson. I would de-nut the banks. I am not that happy with Trump, but we had one alternative. Case closed. T^T I don't know much about this stuff, so could you explain how exactly Trump could default and kill the US dollar? What would he do and what would that result in?
