Termyn8or -> Prejudice I Tellya ! (3/21/2017 11:09:43 AM)

One of those things few people notice.

By and large, most people have brown eyes. Now I don't watch much TV but I have noticed that almost everyone on TV or in movies has blue or green eyes.

I'd bet most people haven't noticed that but once you look for it you will definitely find it. It's like the abberation in early DVD players when it comes to background panning, once you see it it might drive you nuts. They have solved the problem but back then it became annoying.

So, they pick people with blue or green eyes or do they wear contacts ? I am not so sure about the contacts. Natural blue eyes are the result of lack of pigment in the iris, and they appear blue for the same reason the sky appears blue. The outside of the iris is supposed to block light like on a camera when it is too bright. How do these people stand bright sunlight ? I have trouble doing that.

Inquiring mind wants to know.

And anyone who wants to bitch about this being a stupid topic can fuck off. At least it is different than Trump bashing or whatever. That shit is getting old.

T^T

Have you recently bought a colour TV, Termy?

If we're on SF, the case of Louise Jameson in Doctor Who springs to mind. The character she was playing (who wore a lot of leather and replaced Liz Sladen: one wonders, with the amount of Dominatrices and male subs hereabouts whether Leela might be the most favoured Who companion ever around here) wore tinted contact lenses for her first season to make her look like she had brown eyes, and found these so irritating that a bullshit contrivance at the end of "The Horror Of Fang Rock" provided an excuse for her character's eyes becoming blue so she could lay off the contact lenses.

Like I wrote, for TV and movies...they are images, then it's box office, which is beauty which is blue eyes.

But as for Trump bashing, we're just getting started. Enjoy 4 years of this with the right/repubs disinclined to impeach even Genghis fucking Khan.
